Hamas/Israel conflict: news and discussion

It's illegal to carry a Hamas flag?
A person commits an offence contrary to the Terrorism Act 2000 if in a public place they display an article, such as a flag, in such a way or in such circumstances as to arouse reasonable suspicion that they are a member or supporter of a proscribed organisation; however, each case will depend upon its own particular facts including any supporting evidence.

So when is Sunak going to be banged up for projecting a flag belonging to those currently perpetrating war crimes in Gaza above 10 Downing St?

Al Jazeera live updates page had this around an hour ago:

Hezbollah has now claimed responsibility for the attack on Israeli positions.

The Lebanese group’s military media said it attacked five Israeli positions in the Sheba’a Farms with guided missiles and mortar shells at 3:15pm (12:15 GMT).

I'm crap at judging these things but demo in London today is big. Tens of thousands at least. Possibly more. I walked down near the front then walked back along it. It extended for probably a couple of miles.

A good mixed crowd. Lots of young people. A fair few Jews Against Apartheid. Queers for Palestine. Three Hasidim in their Saturday best.

Only sign of trouble I saw was a small skirmish with a dozen or so old men waving an England flag who were quickly surrounded. 'We love England!' That's nice, dear.
