Hamas/Israel conflict: news and discussion

Call it what you want but the Palestinians will never accept the Jews having a state there. What part of that is too difficult to understand. I mean they openly admit it there on their own and Arab media.

The hamas leader recently on the news interview said that they will say to the world that they want a two state solution and then after getting it will fight on forever the whole country.

I know you will say that they don't have represent the Palestinians buy that is what you they pretty much all say. It is a religious war. Problem is that many in West like you struggle to understand that mindset.
Of course if the zionists hadn't had a policy of sidelining secular Palestinians and helping out hamas then we wouldn't be where we are today, would we. If the zionists hadn't spent decades making Palestinian lives a misery the chances for peace would be rather better. The zionists bear a great responsibility for where we are, and unless you want this dismal conflict to lead to a regional or even wider war then some sort of positive suggestion to diminish the conflict if not extinguish it all together would be good. But you're not really about peace, are you.

Have you read your rubbish responses above? Zionists this and Zionists that, it's all Israelis fault wah wah. Get a grip.

The Palestinians have always spurned any opportunities for peace so you can delude yourself but they are responsible for where they are now.
Beyond chutzpah

Have a read of this https://www.timesofisrael.com/for-years-netanyahu-propped-up-hamas-now-its-blown-up-in-our-faces/ and then tell me the Israeli government bears no responsibility for where things have gotten to

I will read it later, but yes, Netanyahu definitely bears some responsibility for Hamas being where they are now. I don't claim Israel have not made errors.

But that is a left wing newspaper and they also are deluded regarding a two state solution being able to bring about some sort of peace.

ffs I take one day off and look what happens

Please stop with the 'hasbara' shit though, I've been accused of that frequently in online arguments and it's bollocks, even tim has been accused of it on this very thread, it's a stupid, meaningless slur.

But now I'm backing away again. Sorry not sorry.

I wouldn't dream of accusing you of anything of the sort. Pretty much all of your posts have been very informative and well-reasoned. Danny boy on the other hand.....

Noticed that Netanyahu has gone from wanting to "destroy Hamas" to wanting to "beat Hamas". Still not really an achievable aim, but somewhat less clear what it means.

Saying Palestinians are "incapable" of a thing (eg. living peacefully alongside Jews) or are "abnormally young" (as a rather laughable euphemism for breeding too fast) are specific slurs on an ethno-national group. I suppose if you'd prefer to get technical about it you could say it's not racism in the same sense as anti-Semitism isn't, but that'd be rather splitting hairs on what kind of horrible prick you are, wouldn't it.

Perhaps you should try applying the same lines to other ethnic groups and see how they look.
The way to translate pro Israeli propaganda is look at their verbs and adjectives to reveal the truth about what they are doing.

Basically the same aim they have had all along - to remove Hamas from the list of significant threats.

Bombing civilians, as always, a failsafe way undermining support for an enemy.

Hamas should rename themselves "Shamas" and then say "There you go, we're defeated".

Plenty of people do this shit for free. Telling someone they are a state asset is really quite fucking stupid (unless there is fucking good evidence).

Pieces of shit like Netanyahu and Smotrich come about because people support them. The utter hatred of Palestinians espoused by our new member is all too common and has grown much more common over my lifetime. Why would they need some shill to come on some fairly obscure message board to spout drivel badly? That argument gives far too much power to the state, a belief that they can be everywhere and do anything. Bollocks to that.

On this thread I get tired of people complaining about "Hasbara" comments as I get tired of it being implied a poster like me is possibly anti Semitic and / or putting posters off from posting here.

Can both sides give it a rest please.
