I had every faith. That’s a decent wicket by Anderson, deserved too from this mornings spell
He only had to stick his arm outI have to say that Bairstow didn't make any attempt to catch that. Really quite disappointing
Root takes brilliant catch to remove Labuschagne
England's Joe Root takes a brilliant reflex catch at first slip to dismiss Australia's Marnus Labuschagne for nine on day two of the fifth Ashes Test at The Oval.www.bbc.co.uk
After Seumas O'Verre, the first ever cricketer to count to six with pebbles.Quick question, why is an over called an over?
Yeah, know what you mean, but yet...This is not an Australia side that deserved to retain the ashes.

Sorry that's WK'ing 101 in the pro game*. Don't snatch at it and watch your hands
(*easier to get away with without replays, was a key tactic of mine, no-one's brave enough to challenge the early contact )
Bad feeling about this. Piggy with mud all over his sweater, about to have the innings of a lifetime
So Root has to bat at 3 tomorrow whether he likes it or not (the experiment with Brooks presumably deemed failed). Moeen can't bat until after lunch or after the 5th wicket falls, whichever comes first. He'll only be hitting boundaries anyway.
Somebody needs to bat very well. Maybe two of them. Then if the Aussies can make 350 batting last, good luck to them.
Btw, there has never been an Ashes without a score below 220. Or a run out. This series is on to break both those records.

Root refusing to bat at 3 seems to me = not a team player. I’d not want him in my team for that reason
Bit harsh. I think his argument was stronger when the openers were more useless and no. 3 would be in more or less straightaway.Root refusing to bat at 3 seems to me = not a team player. I’d not want him in my team for that reason
But Root hasn't really fired this series has he?
