The 2024 UK General Election - news, speculation and updates

So Labour canvassers came by and we took a poster and have put it up. Interesting they asked if we might consider having a postal vote - wonder what that was about? Are they concerned the Tories will try to fuck people over with the ID thing at polling station?

Also from the Times Tim Shipman piece, above...the vermin are skint...

Interestingly, the FT have also spotted a large disparity between spending on SM by the big two parties in the week between the announcement of the GE and dissolution of Parliament:

Probably not; experienced campaign teams/canvassers know that PVers are highly likely to vote (up to 90%) whereas turn-out promises decay at high rates.

Perfectly possible that Sky was reneging on an agreement about the interview questions, but they don’t give a fuck anymore, because all the Tories will be irrelevant soon and there’s only a month left to burn all relationships in the service of amusing the nation.

I am not sure Sky would make such an agreement, besides it was an interview on behalf of the 'broadcast pool', and Jon Craig said in the studio, it was a question a number of other broadcasters had put forward.

"The guys here tonight could have said 'no'"

when he was the only candidate :D

think there was one tory candidate who didn't get selected by the local party after being on a short list of one.

don't know how close to the deadline they left this one

Looks the Tory implosion happening sooner than election night
There's a very real chance that they could well implode in the next week. Rishi is AWOL, the candidates are infighting, the Telegraph has been flooding bullshit on the front pages for months and it hasn't moved the polls by the width of a gnat's labia. I can see a reality where they just give up and hand everything to Reform instead.
