A SR of 65 is not glacial. As No. 3 your job is to partly deal with the new ball and bowlers in the first spells. Soften the ball, knacker the bowlers and score some runs. He did that very well. Now Root and co can crack on and score runs faster because Mo did his job.

Excellent knock from Moeen. England are halfway to Aus's total in just 30 overs. 150-2 in 30 overs would be a good platform in a 50-over match. This is anything but slow.

178 runs from 25 overs in that session. If they carry on scoring at the same rate, they'll finish the day on 516, 199 runs ahead of Australia.

If they start the session well, I wouldn't be in the least surprised to see a declaration before the end of the day, given the rain forecast.
