The Ashes 2023

Does look as though the team attempting to play test cricket will win this test series.

This test hasn't just been a failure/limits of Bazball, England have also been shit. But mainly the former. Carry on playing the same, no regrets, regardless of the state of the game.... really?

Interestingly, the Aussies have done pretty much the same; carried on with what works for them regardless of what England are up to...and surprise, surprise...here we are

England's nuanced response to the short pitched bowling:

Not sure why I'm so annoyed about England's fuck up here but, basically, they deserve to lose and will do.

Man for man, Australia are the better team. In a combined team on current form, I'd probably take Bairstow ahead of Carey, Root would have to be in there somewhere at the expense of an Aus batter, and I think that's about it. Warner or Duckett is possibly a tricky call.

But England have competed brilliantly at times and if they do now go 2-0 down, it will once again be due largely to self-inflicted injuries.

Warner's tick, where he tucks his bat under his arm and undoes his gloves after every delivery, irritates me.

Someone should take the velcro off his gloves.

Fair analysis, obviously apart from the nasty right-wing butterfingers behind the stumps; Carey for me every time.

Makes sense; cooling the wrists & stopping the sweat building up in the gloves.

Not sure why they didn't review that one. Looked well worth a shout.

Edit> It was out
Broad hasn't helped his case by pushing Stokes to go for the previous two no-hope reviews, although Bairstow should have clocked how far across Labuschagne was

He often does it. He's got a rep for it. Doesn't help, but you'd have thought the slips and keeper would have supported that.
