The Ashes 2023

Yes it does. Bairstow earlier in the match in the team bus was giving it the pub bore slagging off the protestors. That is the tell.
Was he? Who says?

A while ago, he posted a pic of JSO blocking a street from the team bus saying 'If we're a bit late, it's not our fault'. I don't see anything else from him about it.

It was not neutral. It stank of reactionary newspaper headlines. I’m a Bairstow fan for his cricket, not his erudite political analysis.

Lacklustre bowling on the first day and careless batting. They’re not entitled to the Ashes, they need to learn that fast. Crossword puzzles seem to be more interesting.

If anything, his actions did JSO a favour. JSO wants newspaper headlines, reactionary or otherwise. They are acting self-consciously in the 'propaganda of the deed' tradition.

tbh it's not erudite political analysis to assume that anyone who doesn't support JSO's tactics is reactionary.

You know what, that's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was half expecting them to blast out England early yesterday afternoon and leave us over 200 behind.

A complete inability to change tactics, particularly in the face of a short ball attack. As bad as anything from the 'bad old days'.

Interesting to see who you're cheering along with, though?
Twat.

fwiw I don't really have a side when observing this particular spectacle. I question JSO as a vehicle for the kind of change they are trying to achieve. I question both their methods and their targets, and the net result is a bit more shit for the rest of us as security everywhere is tightened, to be set aside a highly questionable upside if there is any.

But given the tactics they have chosen, the Bairstow incident is exactly the kind of thing they want.

Yes, Yorkshire cricketers are world renowned for their progressive views.
