Operation pillar of cloud. Israeli assault on Gaza

I have a lot of family friends who are Ghazzan Christians. It's as if their Christmas isn't already shit enough....

Don't, please mate.
don't what? i'm fucking disgusted by the israeli actions, we've been here before time and again as they murder, maim and mutilate without any effective censure and without any action from any international forum. are you trying to tell me that what you feel is in some way purer or better than what i feel?

Purer? Give over mate. I'm probably just not on your wave length atm tis all :(
i remember back in december 2008, january 2009 when there was a previous episode of this sorry series. you'll doubtless recall the incident of the protest in london getting a hiding in the subway by hyde park. all the protests then, all the anger and energy - frankly i'm left feeling disgusted but impotent - there's nothing, it seems, which can be done to prevent the zionist entity killing at will.

I remember that, based on having been there, though having ducked out before getting into the fights or before they sent the horses in to trample on families near the embassy.

Especially when counterfire/stopthewar scum protect the embassy at a later demo.

No one seems to remember that what started this was the murder of an Israeli civilian.

Does his life not matter?

Hamas declared the response as a dangerous "escalation". An admission they started this as usual.

A really sad event I agree but he was doing maintenance on a wall which keeps the Palestinian population in a ghetto, and as you will remember both the wall and the occupation are illegal.

Its' a good starting point to feel for the "other side's" deaths for a change. It doesn't happen often in the debate that takes place around this issue. However it was a border fence not a wall and Gaza is not occupied (except by the genocidal fascists of Hamas).

As for DrRingRing's remarks I have nothing but contempt.

The point is to find a way to peace which protects both Jews and Palestinians.

Balls. The justification for this latest bombardment and air assault is the killing of a single Israeli citizen, but that's all it is - a justification; an excuse for Fat Benny and his right-wing chums to posture.
If you're going to indulge in Hasbara, at least try to make sure it isn't transparent.

(except by the genocidal fascists of Hamas).

For fuck's sake.

1) If anyone's engaging in a program of genocide here it's the Israeli state - Hamas don't have the capability, even if they did have the desire.

2) unpalatable as the politics of Hamas are, they're not fascists - the term has a pretty strict meaning, one that Harry's place fuckwits like you would do well to acquaint yourselves with.

Do you think air strikes and the killing of children is a proportionate response to the shooting?

I want a negotiated and peaceful solution to the crisis. The Hamas Clerical fascists (and that's what they are whether you like or not) are a major barrier. Exactly what did they think would be the response to YET ANOTHER killing? You say Hamas has "unpalatable politics" but they are the ones committed to genocide. It's central to their founding statement. The desire is there. You choose to ignore it.

So its' people like you that needs to stop it.
