Operation pillar of cloud. Israeli assault on Gaza

This was interesting timing.

Yesterday (13 November 2012), US European Command and the Israel Defense Forces successfully concluded Austere Challenge 2012 (AC12), a large-scale air defense exercise that included both field training and command post simulations. Beginning in late October, the exercise was aimed at improving interoperability between the US and Israeli militaries and was conducted as part of a long-standing strategic agreement between USEUCOM and the IDF to hold bi-lateral training exercises on a regular basis. AC12 was cooperatively planned for more than two years, and included approximately 3,500 US personnel with more than 1,000 deployed to Israel. A similar number of IDF personnel participated.

That ustream guy is saying it's confirmed that Rafa has been attacked by Israeli warplanes and there are at least 90 injuries at Gaza central hospital. Both confirmed

Pattern emerges. Post U.S election, congress lame until January - Israel charges into Gaza. Expect it to cease in late January. Like last time.

13 Israelis/1300 Palestinians dead in 2009

I imagine we will see the US act through NATO to declare a nofly zone and start aiding the palestinians immediately. Right...

How many times have Hamas attacked Israel, how many dead. How many attacks on Gaza by Israel. What's the proportion of those numbers relative to each other?

Oh well never mind I suspect all the victims were losers anyway.

Good thing Obama was re-elected rather than Romney so he can hold Israel to account
President Obama is expected to appear shortly at a pre-planned news conference, at which he was to speak about his re-election and plans for his second term.
Meanwhile Pentagon spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Warren released a statement in support of Israel:
"We're monitoring the situation closely," Warren said. "We stand by our Israeli partners in their right to defend themselves against terrorism."

What's the "US European Command" when it's at home?

i think you'll find it does because if it wasn't for the six million there wouldn't be an israel and a west bank and a gaza strip.
I'm talking about people's justifications (either way of the blame game) where who killed fewest or most somehow determines moral rightness. But sure, I get what you're saying.

How many times in, say, the past 6 months, have the Palestinians attacked Israel?

Define! How many times have a variety of armed splinter groups, not necessarily under the control of Hamas, fired rockets into Israel? A fuckload.

But this is like 19 people of arab extraction taking part in a terrorist act and the response being to invade two countries as a result. Wait. Shit.

I can answer some of that.

Palestinian resistance rockets and mortars have killed 21 Israelis in the past 12 years (they began in 2001)

Israel have killed 2300 Palestinians in the past 5 years alone and injured over 7000

825 Palestinians have been directly assassinated in Gaza.

Israel have killed 1477 children in the past 11 years.

During Israel's last ground invasion of Gaza, called Cast Lead, Israel killed 1500 people, including 400 children in just 22 days.

Israeli violence in terms of casualties, degree of destruction, level of violence and number of attacks far far exceeds that of Palestinian violence against Israel.

Hope that answers some of your questions

Basically, like a muscle bound roid head battering a wheelchair bound person for spitting at them.

Do you really think it's that simple? You can win wars with bigger losses than your enemies. You can win them with fewer. What does that tell you?

Wrong end of the stick. You can easily discern the morality of this by looking at the power, which the numbers tell you.

Cheers. What are the sources for these numbers?
