Operation pillar of cloud. Israeli assault on Gaza

When I saw on Twitter a few days ago that random unarmed Palestinians had been shot my thoughts were that this was petulance due to the American election result and the receding possibility of bombing the fuck out of Iran or, better still getting the Yanks to do it for them. Most likely this is actually their plan B though. Get rid of a bit of angst, murder some Palestinians and see how far Obama can be pushed. Fucking depressing. :(

Can it really be possible that this an official IDF Youtube feed?

That vehicle is being illuminated just before <whatever> hits it.

So mostly palestianians are going to die over the next week with the odd israeli consript thrown in for good measure and possibly an israeli civillian or two as well.
Some of the hamas leadership might die as well unfortunatly the israeli leadership will be perfectly safe and absoultey nothing is going to change at all :(

Reports of low flying drones all over Gaza. It's like a dystopia science fiction movie come true

The Palestinians are a bunch of perpetual losers. They deserve nothing.

Giles..
He is kind of right, they got the shitty end of the stick and for no reason for other than being in the wrong place between the Jews wanting a homeland and Arabs not being able to stop the jews. They don't deserve what they have to live with.

From the BBC live updates:

Here's a full quote from the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt: "The occupying state has to understand that the changes the Arab region, and especially Egypt, have witnessed will not permit that the Palestinian people be put under the hold of the Israeli offence in the same way as the past."

reports of attacks on police stations. An identical copy of the start of cast lead. Killing civilian police is a cynical move because (a) it sows chaos and (b) all the deaths can be dismissed as killing "Hamas operatives" which is what they did last time despite the fact that civilian police are not combatants.

You forgot about the Fundamentalist Christians. People always forget about the Fundamentalist Christians.

He should put his money where his mouth is and at least open the border and send medical supplies.

Indeed. Israel are no doubt aware of some changes in the region, and this is also an opportunity to test whether it actually means anything. I have strong doubts that it does, but I do not wish to make cynical presumptions based on the past.

Why don't the surrounding muslim countries not allow the Gazans to set up home in some of the massive empty spaces in their nations? Is it perhaps because for all that they claim to "support" their "brothers", they would rather keep them cooped up so as to annoy Israel, rather than really help them out?

is might always right?

Meanwhile Pentagon spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Warren released a statement in support of Israel:
"We're monitoring the situation closely," Warren said. "We stand by our Israeli partners in their right to defend themselves against terrorism."
