And again! PBOC stomping all over the dodgy exchanges. Prices dropping like a stone. Also saying that people aren't allowed to cash out... Although unconfirmed.

Is it me or has the value dropped by nearly £100 since this morning?

Id like to buy and sell some and see if I can turn a profit on it, but it seems pointless when all I could afford to do it with is £50

If you want to do that, buying from exchanges and selling on bit bargain, etc is a good margin. But you need a bit more float.

If they go back down to what they were about a month ago £689, I'd buy a bunch....... they're still a bit on the high side at the moment for what I'm used too.
You have been threasholded to a familiar price - but that price is no more rational than this.

Naturally a price £100 less than the current is going to seem like a good deal. The current price needs to seem expensive to some, cheap to others, and about right to a few. If circumstances changed and the price dropped to £680 tomorrow, it would no longer seem a bargain. It would seem less valuable. Then you would say "hmm.. Seems high still. I would expect it to be a good deal at £580".

From what I've been keeping an eye on over the last few months, £650-680 seems to be a bit of a low in value, over £800 is a peak

I have some Bitcoin (purchased at £620), and I recently sold a small percentage to buy Ethereum, Litecoin, and Dogecoin. For a laugh.

Lots of reasons. Increased use mainly. Plus speculation about the upcoming ETF approval.

I've been lazily following bitcoin since they were about $30 and right now there seems to be something specific going on I can't put my finger on that is making them keep peaking over the $1000 level and even higher in the last few weeks.. surely not because of sudden widespread adoption but instead a financial or political situation (maybe in China) or somewhere that I wasn't fully aware of? I guess you're right it's the ETF thing - need to do some reading
