Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

A friend in Helsinki says there are plenty making their way into Finland

Yes, and yesterday there were reports of all flights booked, queues at other borders etc. These are all people who can afford to leave though... and good luck to them. But there are going to be many, many more, particularly in regions/republics that aren't able to do that.

What an evil, evil government:

There were also reports from Russia that some of those detained for protesting had been handed draft papers while in custody at police stations. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, when asked about the reports, said that doing so was not against the law

Russia at the UN

the Ukraine's are the real bad guys
they should of gave us the Donbas and are nasty for fighting against us
plus nazies

their is a video of a group of lad who went to counter protest the people who are in the square
acting the big on saying that have no problem with the war

then suddenly blubbing when the MPs grab them as well,

This is all over Twitter but looks like an excellent deal for Ukraine. What use is Medvedchuk to Russia though?

In the small print 5 Azov Commanders have been released ( Denys Prokopenko (aka Redis), Serhii Volynskyi (aka Volyna), Sviatoslav Palamar, Denys Shleha, Oleh Khomenko ) but are to stay in Turkey until the end of the war as part of the deal.

The two large exchanges of POWs at the end of June and yesterday total 359 out of which 151 are Azov.

They will of shit their pants once they sobered up. They're just bairns

aye all bravado till someone drops a gun in your hand and sends you to the front
even they don't deserve it completely just brainwashed gobshites

how they did not notice the line of the press gang lining up around them can only the vodka
not sure how their mate got away but heard he last remark was "now aint this some shit"

Actively stupid as well, if that's happening. Sending anti-war activists to the front is essentially planting motivated organisers against your own side right where they'll do the most damage to morale. There's a reason European governments took a lesson from WWI to allow an out for "genuine objobjectors.
You're assuming they'll be placed among soldiers in other units. Who probably don't have a great deal of belief in the war anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if they were placed in some sort of disciplinary battalion, given the shittest jobs with the shortest life expectancy. And with blocking troops behind them in case they're tempted to break. If putin was interested in morale he'd have acted rather differently over the past eight or nine months

That's if they don't go Private Pyle in training.

Yes, it's hard to take any satisfaction. They might be unpleasant little shits, but nobody deserves to be forced into frontline battle.

Well... certain names such as putin, Johnson, lavrov, Biden, macron, truss, Cameron leap to mind as people who do deserve to be forced into front line battle
They deserve prison. The only people near a battle should be people who know what they're doing, and therefore don't need the extra manpower diverted to their supervision.
