One of the downsides of the whole situation.anyone else irritated by the use of the term de-fang?
Yes, we must sail our gunboats up the Volga.IMO, it's a perfect description. Russia must be rendered unable to go in for this sort of adventurism again.
Exit pursued by window cleaner.Vic Medvedchuck isnt going to be much of an asset for Ivan now I would have thought

I've been defenestrating oligarchs for a living wage,"Confessions of a window cleaner" is a very different series in Russia
I thought a few of them were described as "allies of Putin"?I assume the most likely reason for these fellas falling out of windows is that they've opposed Putin. So while it's funny that nasty oligarchs are getting their just desserts I'm not sure it bodes well.
Yes, that's how you get to be an oligarch.I thought a few of them were described as "allies of Putin"?
The two Brits who were sentenced to death in DNR have been released after Saudi Arabia acted as a go between to negotiate their release.
Yup this war has flushed up America's rehabilitation, Saudi Arabia's concern for human life, and Turkey's concern with peace among other remarkable roles. It's great that the prisoners have been released, but:
Not just Saudi Arabia but MBS himself.
Crown prince mediates in Russia-Ukraine prisoner release
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday held successful mediation sessions to release ten prisoners from various countries as part of a prisoner exchange process between Russia and Ukraine. The Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement the move was...www.arabnews.com
The only reason i can think of that he would become personally involved in this is in an attempt to rehabilitate himself after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi for which he is widely believed to be responsible for. That and to generally portray the kingdom in a good light; never mind the wholesale human rights abuses going on in their own back yard. Great PR exercise for them

Kremlin Fried Chicken - there's one on every corner over there, but international expansion hasn't gone well.Didnt know that KFC were still going in Russia ?
Most probably. The whole thing with Turkey would be laughable were it not, you know, war. Flogging drones to Ukraine whilst brokering grain shipments from Odessa and now this. Never mind their ongoing persecution of the Kurds and sponsorship of islamic extremists in SyriaThis is the total Saudi Arabia/Turkey package isn't it?
Yes, that's how you get to be an oligarch.
It wasn't me who said it in the first place.Well just say that then , then everyone in real life will know what you are on about.
That's no excuse, you will henceforth each time be required to replace "defang" with "must be rendered unable to go in for this sort of adventurism again"It wasn't me who said it in the first place.
The books I read had is living in lunar colonies, travelling to work on moving pavements or transport tubes like Futurama and using such wonders as videophones. Eventually we would send a colony to St Baranard's Star.I know what you mean.
I remember a speculative science book my parents got me for Christmas in the 70’s (I’m in my 50’s). In one bit it had two visions of the future.
Left hand page was an environmental paradise with people wondering around in white robes with glass pyramids.
The other page had basically Bladerunner. Rain, gas masks, neon, concrete, etc.
And as a naive young human i thought ‘well obviously the people in charge are going to go for the optimistic left hand page version of the future, right?’.
How wrong i was. I’ve worked in psychiatry for 15 years and what i now know of the human condition has changed my outlook somewhat.

Well we have smartphones and social media, small victories...
Looks like they're "ex allies" now, in both senses...I thought a few of them were described as "allies of Putin"?
It's more amusing not to correct the mistake I think, plus I can't be arsedI had no idea they'd canonized astronomer EE Barnard. Mind you, if we're talking sci-fi, that could be a plot point.
You're years too late for that to take effectCan everyone please stop posting crap tweets thanks
