Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

You know Corbyn has said war with Ukraine must stop right?

I think he’s still speaking at Stop The Wars But Only Western Ones event but he’s never been good at choosing his mates

Oh, I know he's now saying the war must stop, but like Farage, he was happily blaming NATO before what's happened today, despite the fact that there was bugger all chance of Ukraine joining NATO in the foreseeable future.

I don't think Putin's position is that strong if he isolates himself in the longer-term. Which he could do depending on how it goes in terms of being defined by a war whose outcome and duration is uncertain (I mean they nearly always are).
Yep. Optimistic (sort of) piece here saying that this will be the end of him.

Live feed from Moscow. -- location of some protest, there are a load of police and military and they've been grabbing people who don't seem to be doing much more than standing about and bundling them into vans.

It's weird seeing Jeremy Corbyn & Farage singing from the same sheet of shit.
I'll be honest, I don't think NATO iss entirely blamless, and most likely some very upset Ukranians by the end of all this. But the April Fools maneuvers spooked me and David Aaronvich is right it was fucking obvious by Monday night which way the wind was blowing and which narrative was going to fall apart. Seriously Vladamir? you happened to be training in the area and popped over the border after region self declared independance to discover a genocide being carried out by your neighbours? Having these former CCCP regions must be a right bitch, otherwise you'd no doubt be into Xinjiang like a shot.

Um nice lads :hmm: definitely not fash

Ask any Russian antifascist or anarchist and they will tell you about the Putin regimes' links with fascists and neo-nazis. It's something they have experience with unfortunately.

And though it is disturbing to see armed fascists mobilising, it's hardly surprising as someone pointed out.

Saw this on Twitter..
I wonder if it is true, I hope it is true!
Lost the original tweet when I logged in for some reason;

"Ukraine’s ambassador to the US just told us that a Russian platoon from the 74th Motorized Brigade has surrendered to Ukraine’s forces. She says that the Russian troops apparently had been unaware they were being sent to kill Ukrainians.
No confirmation yet from Russia’s military"

Reported here as well. Which doesn't necessarily make it true.
