Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

He’s not even pro-Russian or anything. Just anti-MSM or summat. But yeah thick as mince as well.
I’ve also had a staff member showing me videos of things I don’t want to see. Again, they’re not checking the validity of their sources, but what’s really out of order is trying to show people violence when they’ve asked you not to, esp at work in a public place ffs
That's one of the worst things about social media. You can get absolute horror or absolute bollocks just randomly appear on your phone. There's always the option to not play it of course but then the sharer moans that you haven't reacted to the video they sent you.

Land troops of the AP of Ukraine 1 year Heading: write our readers. Just in the Kiev region, near Severinovka, the Russian occupation troops entered into battle with ... the Russian occupation troops. As a result, thanks to "friendly fire", 9 tanks and 4 armored personnel carriers were destroyed. Accordingly, this saved us 13 Javelins. The ZSU are sympathetic to the manifestation of such suicidal tendencies among the invaders and ask them to continue in this spirit. And we recommend that mothers of the Russian Federation find out where their offspring are now - in the lists of the utilized occupiers or are still among the living. But this is only optional. You may not find out. All the same, they will all be on the same list, but in different cellophane packages.

think that might be putins problem his shortsightedness to forget that its not 40 years ago

most people young enough to fight against his action have no memory of living under the soviet image.
This aspect isn't talked about enough. I suspect many Russians under 30 aren't really going to give much of a shit about Ukraine, much less understand why the hell their leaders would want to invade it. I mean sure, they've seen the propaganda but to really get behind it and support it? I just can't see it and lots of reports of captured soldiers not really knowing why they're there or wanting to fight seems to back this up.

It's like I said earlier in the thread. This, along with lots of other things going on in the world, stems from stupid old cunts who still think it's the 19th or 20th century.

Glad no one does that to me cos I’d tear them one

Not sure if this was posted before.

A western journalist interviewed people in Crimea around the time of the change over after the referendum. Early on in the interviews you hear criticism of Ukraine and nationalism...however as time passes their attitude changes from relative happiness at rejoining Russia to realising within a short time that their lives were and are far worse off under Russian rule.

You can see why Ukraine wants nothing to do with Russia.

Apols if off topic. And can edit if its not appropriate.

the dam mentioned in that film is gone now - probably for the best that one tbh

What the fuck?! I would never even dream of showing something of that nature to a work colleague. I'm pretty sure it's an open-and-shut case of gross misconduct. Espcially if you've expressly stated you don't want to see that shit.

I'm on the national committee of the Institute for Individual Psychology, an organisation promoting Adlerian ideas in the UK. We have strong links with other Adlerian organisations across the world, with a particularly strong presence in Eastern Europe.

Today, we got a letter from the Ukrainian arm of the operation, which I'll share. Stuff like this really brings it home to you...

Dear Adlerian community

First of all, we would like to thank you for your position and support regarding the situation in our country. To date, as a result of Russia's criminal military actions, we have faced catastrophic disasters - human losses, destroyed homes, schools, hospitals. Despite this, our spirit is stronger than ever, the whole country is working together. We urge you to promote this by actively expressing your position, disseminating it and communicating it in an adequate form that will reflect the reality of our country today! We believe that professional communities like ours have a strong power to unite people according to their values and views, so we see a responsibility to make our messages heard as widely as possible! Today, Russia has threatened our humanity, our peace and tranquility, and we are talking not only about Ukraine, but about the world as a whole.

Sounds like Ukrainian snipers are making important contributions re: Russian commanders:

It tells a deeper story - that senior Russian Officers feel they have to be at the front...

There are good reasons for seniors to be at/near the front: seeing the reality of the situation rather than a filtered version, and providing leadership when your soldiers are going through difficult times.

But it can also be a sign that the communications are ratshit and you need to be telling CO/OC's to their faces what you want them to do, or worse, that without the senior standing over them and whipping them on, they'll find reasons not to do it...

Watching BBC news and there's plenty of talk from commentators about the real possibility of Russia using a battlefield nuke.

Armchair general. Doesn’t it only work against massed ranks columns. What are you going to do, nuke a city otherwise. Not very practical against insurgency unless it’s total war. But I do worry would possessing Ukraine, even if it is a charred corpse suffice for Putin and his ilk’s purpose.

This is v v v interesting - looks like yet more Bayraktar's are finding their way to the staging site for Ukrainian supplies in Poland:

My suspicion is that Erdogan finds this all very convenient indeed. He's no fan of Putin's - if he can bleed the Russian military dry, massively boost his own arms exports and become the major regional power in SE Eurasia - massive win for him. This and the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflicts are really announcing Turkey as a major 21st century power. Odd given that their economy is supposed to be in freefall otherwise (54%+ inflation).
