Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

There it is flying by, fuck. Fucking flying over again, fuck. It’s all fucking fucked up! Everything. It’s fucked as fuck. They’re fucking bombing it since 2.30 am,… Show more

Bill Paxton is alive and well...and living in a small village outside Volgograd

To make sense of this, Ukraine appears to have bombed the fuck out of the Oktyabrskoye airbase in Crimea, over a period of several hours, totally destroying it and all its new hangars.

They fucking fucked it.

And, it seems not the only one fucking fucked!

They also seem to have hit the Marinovka airbase, in the Volgograd Oblast, during the early hours.

Ukraine’s SBU security service said it carried out the remote raid against the Marinovka airbase, about 45 miles (70km) west of Volgograd, near the city of Kalach-na-Donu.

The base is home to about 30 Su-34 and Su-35 fighter jets. The planes carry out regular bombing runs against Ukrainian positions on the frontline about 280 miles away, the SBU told the Kyiv Independent newspaper. It is unclear how many jets were damaged or destroyed.

One Russian witness filming the destruction suggested the airfield had been wiped out. “It’s a serious tragedy, folks. This is serious stuff. It’s all fucking on fire. And it’s fucking smoke. It’s all fucking exploding. That’s it,” he said as detonations continued.

Yup ...

"The fucking fucker's fucked ! "

That just about covers the situation.

What was it the USA were saying about russia stepping up attacks around the 24th August, as that's Ukraine's National Freedom Day. The American's didn't say anything about the reverse happening - although that's a proper real military target, not a civilian school / hospital / housing ...

Ukraine confirms attack on Russian ship

Ukraine has confirmed that it destroyed a ferry in the Russian port of Kavkaz that was used to deliver fuel and weapons to occupied Crimea.
“Another undoubtedly military objective has been destroyed. Its purpose was to provide fuel for the invaders. The ferry sank and this port (Kavkaz) is not usable until the ferry is removed,” Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk told Ukrainian television.
“It was the ferries that accounted for three quarters of all logistics and were the main channel (of supply),” he added. LINK

It all seems a very co-ordinated attack on several Russian targets, something we've not see much of recently.

I think it's fair to say Putin is not having a very good time, and to add insult to injury, hackers took over Russian state TV to blame him for the mess they are in, a nice touch.

Hackers have delivered a stinging blow to Vladimir Putin by infiltrating state TV and airing a video that pins the blame for the Ukraine war squarely on the Kremlin leader.

In a significant propaganda victory for Kyiv, hackers managed to broadcast a video claiming that Putin forced Ukraine into invading Russia.

The video then draws parallels with the Soviet Union's previous military campaign in Afghanistan, which culminated in defeat and disgrace.

A voiceover predicts that the current conflict in Ukraine will conclude in a similar fashion - with thousands of dead soldiers and a humiliating defeat.

The last few times that happened it was regional broadcasters having a single transmitter hacked. I doubt they managed to broadcast that to the whole of Moscow let alone the country.

I dint catch any supportive words from Harris in her speech Last night..in fact I dont remember her even mentioning Ukraine

Well you obviously haven't played many strategy games on your computer because that's exactly how it's done. Yari ashigaru and bow levy defending the castle while your warrior monks and samurai go on the rampage.
What about the scavenging and crafting angle?
