If only the Israelis had some sort of experience of being forced to stay in their homes while a cloud of well armed death squads swooped past, randomly killing anyone on a whim, driven by a hatred of the other driven by a prejudice created in lies and a small example of a wider population. A population forced to go through laborious identification and screening processes, being denied access to their work, being driven from their homes and watching as their possessions were taken while soldiers look on.

A way to really feel like they are being used as a crude way to unite a nation, and ultimately become victims of that nations hideously ugly military society - steeped in fear and paranoia.

Are they? Part of the reason for the state of Israel doing what they continue to do, is to scare Palestinians away, so that the population is reduced. That way, the detonation of the demographic time-bomb ticking away under their arses can be postponed for another day or week or month.

Millions were dispossessed all over Europe from WW1 onwards, and particularly after WW2. Most went somewhere else, and got on with it.
