non corruptable?

people with enough money are playing it like a fiddle.

If it drops down again to about 20 quid a piece, then I might play. But at the moment it's at a bit of a high and investments will have less yield.

Looks like the weekly technical issues are happening again, btc down in value. I'll buy more if they go right down. :)

That's bad right?

I've seen people bragging that they've shorted it, i'm really not sure how you could? Unless they mean they've stocked up via the silk road?

If it has a real future it needs to be used more as a currency. This speculation is rubbish and means nothing for how successful it is going to be.

It's actually harmful as no one can work with a currency so volatile.

but if you can play it right, there's money to be made. Don't put in more than you're willing to throw away.
If I had some money to play with, I'd have a play with this.

It shouldn't be used to make money, that's what's wrong with it at the minute!

How do you do well out of bitcoins tanking? I'm struggling to get my bonce around all of this tbh!
If one was to buy when the price is low, and hold on for a bit, it will go back up again, sell when it is about to fall, and repeat process in a never ending circle. But, it's very up and down, and rather unpredictable. I remember when it was peaking at about 40 or so dollars a BC, now it's going up to couple hundred. If I'd have bought wisely and held on to it, I could have made a fortune. (I've never bought any, so that's not going to happen) If you have BC and it crashes, don't worry, just use the low period to aquire a bit more, and wait for the inevitable rise.

Never put in more than you're happy to chuck away.

They only way you could go short bitcoin at the moment, would be to borrow some bitcoins from someone. Sell them straight away, then buy them back later and return to who you borrowed from . I doubt many, if any have done that!

Yea, that was my thought (occasionally have them). It's not like a mainstream company that you can use an agency to short their share price with, no offense to any person reading but I suspect some people on twitter don't always tell the truth.

If it shouldn't be used for making money, then you shouldn't be able to trade in real cash. People get a sniff of a potential good profit, and they're going to go in like wolves.

But you aren't selling, you've sold. We might be crossing over words here, my quandry was that I can't see how anyone benefits from the price dropping. If shares in Tesco drop somebody might have shorted the stock with ig-index and made dosh out of the drop, I can't see how you'd do that with bitcoins. It's all irrelevant to me as even if I wanted to play these games, I can't afford to.

It only works out in profit if you sell before the crash, and buy when the price troughs at the bottom. It goes up and down so quickly you've not really lost anything if it crashes, cos it'll be going back up again in a matter of weeks/months. So if it crashes and you still have BC, hold on to them they will go back up.

Just because something is possible, doesn't mean you should do it.
