Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

No doubt a direct response to the criticisms which have been raised internally regarding the direction of the war, but I can't imagine it'll be very helpful in the short to medium term while the new guy's brought up to speed etc. Certainly won't fix the mobilisation/logistics issues which are presumably being blamed on Chaiko (who was only appointed last November). Berdnikov's another former Syria vet, which isn't going to give him much greater insight into fighting against opponent with full military training and modern weaponry I wouldn't have thought.

I find it unlikely that Starlink connections would fail due to moving a few miles.

This is more likely Musk chucking his toys out like the petulant prick he is.
They were cut off by Starlink to stop Russians from using them. Sounds like a miscommunication, where Ukraine moved so quickly that Starlink couldn't activate access for those areas quickly enough.

I think starlink only works with specialised hardware.
