Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

Who here is not being allowed to talk about this war or anything else?

In reality is the Ukrainian people, not those pontificating here or even the Ukrainian regime who will decide, when and if it is time to cease resistance to occupation in it's current form. No government can concede and survive without a popular mandate; equally no regime can continue to fight if those expected to go to the frontline are unwilling to go.
I think the USA will be heavily involved in the decision making process.

The USA failed in Afghanistan and they are incapable of controlling Netanyahu. They can influence the war by reducing support for the Ukrainian military, but beyond that what? It's an increasingly weak country that may not even be able to resolve its own internal conflicts, centring around Trump and the upcoming November elections, without seeing severe internal civil unrest.

They can influence the war by increasing support for kyiv too, if the bill ever makes it out of the house of representatives. The thing is the decline of the United States has been declared loads of times yet like the Russian army, similarly declared on the brink of disaster, there it still is. Let's see how things turn out in Washington and across that great Republic over the coming months

theres a few things wrong with it. one of which is the mention of "human wave attacks". the phrase has also been mentioned here and is very common in its use but up to now i have never seen any evidence of it. which, considering the amount of video footage available from both sides, makes me think it is not happening.
unless i misunderstand the phrase.
has anyone seen any evidence of human wave attacks?
Bakhmut anyone?

"Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate spokesman Andriy Yusov. . . accused Russia of endangering the nuclear facility, the civilian population and the environment by carrying out strikes on the plant itself."

Rather unlikely.

the facility is pretty much on the front line

so dodgy firing from either side could possibly go astray

Ah the will of the Ukrainian people!! By which you must actually mean one Ukrainian person, Zelensky...someone who has banned the biggest opposition party, who has missed the deadline to hold an election, has fired his biggest rival who it also happens was polling ahead of him, and who many commentators say actively stands in the way of applying different approaches, both militarily and in terms of peace talks. Meanwhile "Ukrainian people" , currently living under martial law, are voting with their feet and running away from conscription as best they can.

if you are on about operation for life that is some serious mental gymnastics

that a party during wartime oddly got banned for showing support for the invasion of ukraine

more so if it for the former PM who fled to Russia

Tbf, what you have written there you’d have sacked Churchill.

If enough Ukrainians refuse to go into the military: vote with their feet, the government will be unable to continue fighting, that will be the will of the people.

As to Zaluzhny, whilst he called for different tactics to be employed, the fact that he has since been sent to be the Ambassador to the UK, suggests that he is not regarded as an opponent of the war's continuation.

It's such a stupid thing to say, it may surprise you to hear that it's not my position to give land to anyone, particularly confusing for armchair generals, I appreciate that.

Putin has won the land he has won, he won it two years ago, it's clear what territory it is, the UK general above understands it and names the territories... not sure what your confusion is.

If you're in the mood for asking questions the question is, as the general says, what is the exit strategy, what counts as a win, and how long do you want to drag the war on for and how many people do you want to throw in their graves... 25-27 year old are the next cohort due to the incoming recruitment age drop. For what? I'll answer that one, for absolutely nothing to change on the ground .
Arguably, he didn't "win" it. He STOLE it. How far do we want to go with this...?

Do you mean Opposition Platform for Life?

because they are losing their battles.
targeting a nuclear power plant is demented.

Do you think they would be attacking it if their fascist neighbour wasn’t occupying it?

Seems to me they didn’t attack it before Russia came raping and murdering and I would guess they won’t do so once Russia fucks off.

TopCat doesn’t have the bollocks to answer honestly, do you? What do you think would be the best way for this situation to end?

so it is now ok to attack a nuclear power plant with drones? you can't see any drawback to that?

the best way for this to end is without a nuclear disaster in ukraine. or do you disagree?
