She'd probably forgotten to bring her collanderWhy would you leave your phone on a bench to have a piss?
Crack the back of your head, where? Here are some images of the bench...
Probably didn't stop for a wazz there. But you can see how easy it would be to slip and crack the back of your head just wandering over for an idle look.
Pass it to your running partner like a relay batonyeah but you keep your phone on you right?

Your phone is probably inside a pocket on your backpack or in a panier or whatever.yeah but you keep your phone on you right?
Yep. Agreed. The whole going for a piss thing is bonkers to me. I thought kebabking was taking the piss when he proposed it. Why would a woman squat beside a river close enough to fall in, rather than nip behind a tree or somewhere else?
Yep. Agreed.
The other possible reason to leave a phone temporarily on a bench might be if someone you knew came along maybe to the gate..and you went over for a quick chat.
You'd pop over and leave the phone for a moment.

I left my phone on a bench last year in St Ives. Put it on the bench whilst I changed my reading glasses back to my normal ones. Got back to the Airbnb and realised it wasn't in my pocket so long walk back to the bench. He makes a reasonable point about the phone though. Very odd that it gets left on a bench.
Back to accusing the partner again I see. He just looked shifty officer.
Absolutely not doing that...Back to accusing the partner again I see. He just looked shifty officer.
I've done similar..when in a place that I feel safe. And if I know the people around me..especially if its just for a moment.Maybe if you were pissed or stoned.
Unless you're scifisam and can state definitively nb wasn't desperateIt's not exactly Oxford Circus... People get caught short and have a pee all the time, especially on walks in the countryside, so seems perfectly possible and impossible to rule out.

Always remembering that the alternative is someone abducting a healthy woman in a 15 minute time frame and taking her past a glamping site or over several fields without being seen. To one road which apparently has a fair number of houses with ring doorbells etc. It's possible, I don't particularly trust the police to get everything right, but on the facts available to us accident seems more likely.
you've cursed it nowBut speculating here isn't that big a deal - the family are never going to see it, and it is a weird disappearance.

Or vice versaI serioisly doubt the police are giving the public every single bit of info they have.
Having now seen the pics it is pretty sparse and open and not the obvious choice for cover, unless she was going to hop over that fence.Yeah, maybe in that copse of trees behind the bench. Not next to the riverbank. FFS, this is ridiculous.
Something in the water, either rocks or the usual shopping trolley or crap that arseholes throw in the river?
Falling in the river does seem more likely than anything else, but I can see why the family are really sceptical.
Poor fucking family, especially the husband at the moment. The cops would have checked him out to make sure he wasn't involved, and he clearly wasn't.
But speculating here isn't that big a deal - the family are never going to see it, and it is a weird disappearance. What goes through people's minds when they speculate on actual news sites and things the family might see, though? Do they really and truly think that they're being helpful rather than adding to people's pain?
You should have read the thread and seen that this was dealt with already.Ordinarily fine with speculation, only human, but certain posters were going off that interview of the partner and giving it the 'I'm not saying anything, but just look at his reactions'. Which is something that can be harmful in a more insidious way, and should be challenged I think.
