Even though there has been tactical collaboration in the past, there's no real good blood between Putin and Erdoğan.I would never of thought Turkey would of turned on Russia and Putin

How’s Chinese media covering the whole thing ?
I'm not sure they're bothered about being seen as hypocrites much, they are on so much else, think it's more that they do bang on about territorial integrity and sovereignty a lot so that's hard to square and that any love for Russia is entirely instrumental. Probably as much thinking it's wise not to show their hand too much while it's up in the air and can afford to piss the Russians off a bit by being lukewarm as they have nowhere else to turn.Kinda get the feeling Xi can't really outright go against it because he basically wants to do the same thing but also doesn't want to be linked to it in any way - would this be accurate?

I have no clue how things look from Russia obvs but Ukrainians seem to be doing a really good job of the hearts & minds stuff.
the russians know the aggravation that can be caused by rolling news not reporting anything newI read that today Russian tv has normal chat-shows on when you’d otherwise expect coverage of the ‘special operation’ to have dominated.
we've already seen from kebabking, who has some knowledge of warfare, that the best units of the army have been, for whatever reason, held back. imagine the situation that might occur if the territorial units of the british army were sent into battle while the regulars were held back. you might see something similar to this. so rather than pontificate on the basis of er no knowledge or evidence why not go back and reread kebabking's posts before posting again?

True, but it would still be a bugger if they couldn't leave again.let's just wait for confirmation on this as only yesterday the turkish government were saying they couldn't legally block warships returning to their home base, which for many russian ships is in the black sea. Turkey values closing the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits but clarifies that it will not be able to prevent the return of Russian ships - Royals Blue
yes it is rather oddBut that post is literally supported by “knowledge/evidence”..?
Rather odd

For those that need evidence not to believe tenuous rumours on the Internet:
According to the Ukrainian prime minister Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Turkey has agreed to stop Russian warships passing through the Dardanelles and Bosphorus straits, which connects the Black Sea to the Mediterranean.
The screws seem to be turning almost hourly.
there's no real good blood between Putin and Erdoğan.
TBF there were about 30 Afghan Mujahideen ( gosh remember them?) in Saudi as part of the coalition for Gulf War one -.Kuwait.Sky news now reporting Chechen fighters are in the Ukraine helping the Russians
I figure Putin will bring this to a head by sending a ship to cross. Turkey would deny that ship a pilot. I don't know what happens after that. Not sure how Turkey could stop them without some major escalation

TBF that didn’t end well strategically for the Ottoman Empire…To prevent warships passing through the Bosphorus? It is remarkably easy; the decaying Ottoman state (with no warships of note) managed to do it against the world's biggest and third/fourth biggest navies 100 years ago.
