Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

There's been quite a lot of excitement about the deaths and injuries caused by Bayraktars though not as much as back in March.
I think you will find that the "excitement" you are referring to has been more about the Ukrainians being able to successfully defend incursions by a foreign army onto their sovereign lands. Were you in less of a rush to paint everyone except yourself as some kind of warmongering necrophile, you might have noticed that precious few, if any, have been celebrating the loss of life, specifically, amongst the invaders.

Although, TBH, when a significant proportion of those invaders see fit to rape, torture, and murder civilians while its government persists in the ridiculous lie that they're actually trying to save Ukrainians from themselves, it is hardly surprising that the moral lines occasionally get blurred.

I've done what now Mr Creamy Pants?

Think you may have mistaken the level of sarcasm going on from most people on that page.
Not sure these ones were sarcastic:

Well, this is a bit special.

I imagine the Baykar sales department can’t keep up with the enquiries at the moment… still good on them for this.
I think that's the praise of arms manufacturers (and associated likes etc.) that people were objecting to.

I'm as big a cheerleader as anyone for the Ukrainian resistance to invasion and genocide of their people, and I'm sure the military is grateful for any help they can get, but let's not pretend that the arms manufacturers are some kind of lovely benevolent socially minded capitalist enterprise.

When I posted 'Well, this is a bit special.', that was in respect of the complete story, that 6 million euros was raised in small donations within just a few days by the Lithuanians to support the Ukrainians by buying a Bayraktar, which is impressive, and most of those funds will now be spent on humanitarian aid, which is even better.

The fact that Baykar is donating the drone instead, is just part of the story, and is factual information, I certainly wasn't offering any praise on that. Not that I am surprised that some posters focused on that, rather the wider picture, which is much more impressive.

No need to explain this to a couple of pseudo right-on dickheads trying to out-lefty each other on the internet. Nobody here will hold any particular candle for the arms industry but the fact that this manufacturer has donated the weapon so the money can be used for humanitarian aid IS noteworthy.

Jesus. I bet you love going home in the holidays to tell cook about socialism.

I'm glad Ukraine's got an extra drone and added humanitarian aid, I'm also pretty sure that Baykar would be gleefully selling killer drones to both sides if it wasn't for sanctions/Turkish government policy.
