Israel/Gaza: UK crackdown and backlash

Cops are kettling some of the far-right thugs, let's hope they can keep them away from the hate peace march.

Agreed. Hopefully the Billl will keep them there until well after c.3pm (dear Mr Cop, please don't be swayed by any fashman's plea to be allowed out "to watch the football in a pub").

Stay safe marchers, take care.

Sky has a live stream of the march, I assume from a helicopter.

Whilst on the Sky news channel they are showing the far-right fighting with the cops, some broke out of the kettle, and they keep pointing out that many of them have been heavily drinking, and throwing their empty bottles & cans at the cops.

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has joined the Scottish first minister, Humza Yousaf, and blamed Suella Braverman for protesters’ clashes with police.
He tweeted: “The scenes of disorder we witnessed by the far-right at the Cenotaph are a direct result of the home secretary’s words. The police’s job has been made much harder.
“The Met have my full support to take action against anyone found spreading hate and breaking the law.” LINK

Let's hope the day continues like this, as in the far-right continues to cause trouble and fight with the police, whilst the march remains peaceful, leaving Braverman with egg on her face.

Thanks for this.

And, so far only 2 arrests on the march, one for assaulting a police officer and a second for possession of a controlled substance.

BBC updated their figure to 82, catching up with Sky:

The force says a total of 82 people have been arrested on Tachbrook Street "to prevent a breach of the peace".

"They’re part of a large group of counter-protestors we have been monitoring who have tried to reach the main protest march," the police statement says.

"We will continue to take action to avoid the disorder that would likely take place if that happened."

The knuckle-draggers turn out to 'protect the Cenotaph' and start fights with the cops, they are not very bright, are they?
So, Cruella has created a situation where the Cenotaph is surrounded by menacing fascist bullies.... basically, a historical re-enactment society, a missing episode of Dad's Army. You stupid boy!

I daren't look, but I wonder how the Mail will be spinning this as the fault of the PSC/Muslims/Brown People? Oh, sorry, I forgot, they are all in league with the liberal Woke Met. If it wasn't for the fact that over 10,000 people have died, this would be an episode of Brass Eye.

So far they are going for headlines like 'met gets tough' and :

Met arrest 80 after screaming thugs sent missiles raining down on officers - as they warn anyone who attacks London pro-Palestinian demo will be locked up

Other language currently used by them includes:

Officers have made at least 82 arrests among the Robinson mob with alleged offences including carrying a knife, assaulting a police officer and possession of a controlled substance.

The Met Police also shared a video on X, formerly Twitter, of officers being attacked by right-wing protesters in Chinatown.

They've also got images of a right-wing protester assaulting a pro-Palestinian demonstrator and then someone else coming to his rescue with violence of their own.

As an aside, slightly worrying numbers for the Fash 'Attack and/or Defend the Cenotaph and/or Police' demo. Looks to be in the hundreds which will be dwarfed by the Palestine demo of course, but still a decent turnout. :(

Edit: and whilst you can't read the size of a demo off the numbers arrested, 82 arrests at least suggests a fair sized turnout.

I know it's not the main point here, but the amount of totally uncovered faces in that video is bonkers. Obviously I'm not the Green and Blackshirt Cross or anything so it's not my job to give legal advice to fascists, but ffs, surely everyone there knows that they're not there for a peaceful A-to-B stroll to listen to speeches in Trafalgar Square, so why not dress like it? God, the anarchist (or more recently YCL) trend of getting dressed up like you're carrying out a guerrilla operation to tag along at the end of some tame TUC march might be a bit embarrassing, but doing it the other way around like that is definitely worse.

This is very good, because they're shitting the bed noisily and publicly. I only hope it goes on this way, the peace marchers go home peacefully and the fash cause trouble all night. I don't want anyone to get hurt but this country needs to see the far right shit the bed. It's perfect, please in the name of all that is right and good, let this be today's headlines.

It doesn't surprise me at all, they are as thick as shit.

yeah sky news repeatedly pointing out that police are reviewing footage and going over it and over it in slow motion to match people to actions for further action.
