World Athletics Championships 2017

Rosie Clarke in the women's steeplechase heats.....

She has a nice running style and she has true grit but, boy, is she disaster-prone....

wotsisname, the Brit, did a very good job of not looking or sounding at all possess off Makwala was in his heat

A damp but enjoyable night. Some slightly odd results, but the whole stadium (such as it was, that early) was behind Makwala in his time trial. Also loved the Norwegian winner of the 400m hurdles. "He's gone out way too fast, he'll run out of gas... yup, here he... oh, second wind... WHAT THE FUCK?!" :D His reaction after he crossed the line was great, and he really enjoyed his lap of honour
On y way home, weather was unbelievable, but had a great time. Saw Mo and some other great atheltes. Sat in front of the women's shot put final. Bloody freezine
Ahh, good spot! The Chinese contingent looked to be having a good time. We were down in front of the long jump, sitting behind Jazmine Sawyers family :D (but also :( ).
The area at the bottom of the steps the poor buggers have to walk up after running in superhuman times is known as the 'vomit zone' - about 20% of all the runners throw up at the end of the race!
My mum mentioned this - apparently she gave the kit to the person who's on vomit duty. Apparently she's normally a trauma nurse!

I want Jazmin Sawyers to be successful but I think she's too small (5ft 3in) for the long jump.

She's got good speed and she's a bit of a heptathlete. If she's got good strength to weight ratio, I think she should try the pole vault.

I should have got their number otherwise I'd have passed on the suggestion :( ;)

I know what you mean, she is pretty short. That said, it's not necessarily about height but speed + spring.

I'm pretty sure not one long jumper made the automatic qualifying distance; the conditions were terrible for jumping.

Out of interest, what's the cost? Are there seats on the night?
We were in row 18 cost was £50 a ticket. No idea if available on the night, it was pretty packed so probably not. We have ticket for the Saturday morning session as well. Same cost I think.

My ticket for Monday was £60 but my Saturday am ticket was £20. I think the price range varies from £20 to about £120 depending on the banding of the seating.

Sirena it's worth having a look at the official website re tickets. A load more went back on sale a week ago and I suspect they're mostly gone, but there might be a few available. It was mostly full on Monday night but there were a few clusters of free seats about.

Nope none of them. Closest was 4cm down on auto qualifying.

Just walked past Justin Gatlin on a treatment couch. Was it wrong to have a momentary thought of kicking one the legs of the couch out from underneath him?
