They've had some stand out 400m runners over the years, particularly Amantle Montsho who had some battles with Christine Ohuruogo. They've been gradually becoming world class in the 800m but this has definitely been a standout games for them.Yeah, was going to say, fair play to the first three Botswanan runners, giving Tebogo the platform to get so close to overhauling the Americans.
I'll admit I've been out of the athletics loop for a long time, but where the fuck have Botswana come from?!*
*no-one say "Botswana"
Yeah, I thought she didn't have the baton, either. They're saying the Jamaican pulled up injured, she didn't look injured was like she just stopped. On the replay just, I don't think she had the baton in her hand?
She just happened to keep whacking Rhasidat Adeleke in the gut until the baton had enough and went flyingYeah, I thought she didn't have the baton, either.
Oh, yeah, there it goes! That is really rough...
Our girls were nearly in tears at the start of their postrace interview. By the end they were all smiles and "we'll be back".Rough for Ireland (and Jamaica), really wanted them to get a medal.
Bol is a cheat code. The US were playing a different game.
She's my hero. I want to be friends with her, she's always smiling and is so funny in interview.Wow - amazing from Hassan.
I think this is the most impressive Olympic performance I’ve ever seen. Medals in the 5k, 10k and a gold in the marathon, all within six days of each other.
Same - my favourite athlete from any discipline. I don’t know if non runners are able to fathom quite how mental it is. Just casually tapering for your marathon by getting Olympic medals over 5k and 10k in the six days beforeShe's my hero. I want to be friends with her, she's always smiling and is so funny in interview.
I have to admit I had doubts - I thought if she can only manage bronze on the track then she's got no chance. But she's teased us all, clearly massively holding back so she can get a gold medal. Amazing
