Ukraine invasion memes and viral content

The pro-Ukraine orthodoxy on here is ridiculous and it makes me laugh. Alot of the time I wonder if certain posters on here are actually adults, not just on threads like this either.

WTF is wrong with being pro-Ukraine, when Russia is the aggressor in this situation?

I've enjoyed most of your contributions across the boards, but it seems increasingly clear that you are not happy here, so perhaps you should move on elsewhere.

How trustworthy is the source?
The article is careful not to reach any definitive conclusions but they have independently verified that the oligarch is who the source says he is. They are equally careful for obvious reasons not to reveal who it is though.

This article is fairly informative:

Radiation is used to treat various forms of cancer. Putin has access to large amounts of radioactive material and nuclear testing grounds so as not to affect other Russians. Might solve the problem. :hmm:

I've seen this source a couple of times on here and my dyslexic brain immediately reads it as News Line. I then get all excited that someone is quoting the WRP (or whatever split from them that controls the paper) only to suffer much disapoint when it turns out to be a serious source.

This is the real deal:

Turns out the WRP still think Russia is the Soviet Union and that NATO is out to smash socialism in the East.

When I get responses such as "Kremlin lackey" etc to what I posted I have to wonder about the age of some of those who replied to me, as funny as it is.

And having a bit of a different view on a topic shouldn't mean having to go elsewhere/not posting on here anymore.

Were you pro-Iraq during the devasting US/UK invasion and occupation of Iraq?

I wouldn't describe myself as pro-Ukraine because its a capitalist state run by a corrupt oligarchy with all that that entails, including authoritarianism, repression and deliberate class inequality that favours a rich parasitic elite at the expense of the ordinary people - the same applies to Russia and every other country on the planet. I wouldn't be pro-something that I don't believe in/don't want/ am against.

I am not pro-any nation. I am pro-the world.

That's a parody site right?

I think you need to look at things with a bit more nuance.

Re: The US/UK invasion of Iraq. I wouldn't have described myself as pro-Iraq, but I was anti UK/US for sure. The Iraqi army stuck no chance and the result of the illegal war was a million dead. Saddam may have been an awful leader and person, but was his removal worth those deaths and associated suffering. Well I guess it was for Halliburton.

I think there is a slight difference in comparing these wars. Not in the fact that they are both illegal, but in the response of the invaded population. Whilst a lot of Iraqis didn't care much about the removal of the Baathist regime, I think the resistance there was in some part created and maintained due to inept succession planning, pretty much sacking what was left of the Iraqi army and creating power vacuums with lots of idle hands.

The Ukrainian people have responded very differently to the invasion. Resistance appears to be right across society and the outcomes for the population look very bleak should Russia succeed in their aims. Russia has historically not given a fuck for the deaths of millions of Ukrainians and I doubt Putin cares any more. They are literarily fighting for their survival, not just as a nation, but also as humans.

Here, I wouldn't particularly describe myself as pro Ukrainian, even though I'm half Ukrainian, but for sure I want to see Russia to not be in a position to do the same again to Ukraine or any other of their neighbours. The only way currently to achieve this is to continue to resist the Russian invasion and sadly the only way of doing that at the moment is by military means.

Neither should it be an excuse for you to constantly try and belittle other posters by suggesting they're children, you blazing hypocrite.

So if the UK was invaded and your town was being blown up and people you know being shot by the invading forces. I assume you'll be posting things like this.

HOW THE UK WAS REPORTED BEFORE THE INVASION

Yeah. I'd be totally looking for the opportunity to get Johnson offed during an invasion as he would be a pure liability in any struggle for survival. He'd happily work for the occupiers if he thought he could get a paycheque.
