The 2024 UK General Election - news, speculation and updates

Been wondering what they do with all the ballot boxes between elections, as there must be many thousands of them in the UK. Maybe they live in a warehouse somewhere and are dispatched around the country at election time, or used at village fetes for tombolas and stuff.

i think the modern plastic ones are stackable if you take the lids off unlike the old metal ones, but yes, councils do need to store elections stuff, not just the ballot boxes, but the folding wooden voting booth / screen things and as many of the signs as can be used again.

council i work for has somewhere fairly remote that's a storage facility, as senior managers think everything is paperless now and you don't need actual storage space at main council office buildings...

"...better grammar than me" is acceptable. So is "...better grammar than I have". But "better grammar than I" is just weird.

To labour the point, which works best better? "Better grammar than us" or "better grammar than we"?

best = better since there are only two choices there :)
