'Needle spiking' in UK nightclubs wtf?

Ketamine is typically 50mg/ml, so that would be a hefty 5ml injection, which is the maximum volume typically used for IM injections, and that would have to be in a big muscle like your arse. Hard not notice that immediately.

Of course the perpetrator could have made up their own super-concentrated solution for injection, but I'm pretty sure you can't get much passed 200mg/ml, hardly a pinprick, especially not in somewhere like a forearm or whatever.

We have a big national toxbase lab at Llandough hossie

And a time machine, so the lab can get started on the sample last Wednesday.
Tough job for the toxicologist, not being able to warn the poor lad for fear of collapsing the space-time continuum. :(

To be honest, I can't see the FB post you're referring to, but if it's Cardiff there's a big resource close at hand with toxbase, wedinos and the poisons unit all based in the same hospital

Totally with you mate. Loads of girls all over the country complain about geting spiked (over months) and there's no corroboration whatsoever.

Jonjo Morgan's nephew off Cardiff Facebook, gets spiked (probably by EnGeRLlzSCh unicorns) with his mates; run into hospital, diagnosed with a targeted poisoning plan and cunning mixture of Rohypnol AND Ketamine, sneakily administered via needle; faster than you can say Georgi Markov.

It does sound believable, tbf.

If the the security services (take your pick) aren't speaking to Jonjo (off Facebook)'s nephew, they're missing a trick.

Fingers crossed, eh?

Who is Jonjo Morgan?

The article I read said that if people were injected so quickly (as is being claimed in some cases), it’s proper KGB/MI5 level skills that would have to be deployed to do this successfully and stealthily.

It would be very tricky to inject a decent amount of k and rohipnol in solution via IM effectively without someone at least turning round and twatting you. Doesn't mean they didn't try though.

All you 'didn't happen' guys haven't read the links on this post, have you?

This was on my local news website a few days ago.

And this is on the BBC news tonight:

I don't think anyone's saying it definitely isn't happening. Just that a degree of scepticism is warranted for all the reasons mentioned on the thread. The story you link to, for example, is a supposed report of something that may have happened, with no corroboration, only carried by local media sources 5 days ago and now seemingly forgotten. There's no doubt that spiking occurs. It's this method that people are dubious about, and Facebook stories about Jonjo's nephew getting spiked on the way home from the football and then being instantly diagnosed by Cardiff toxicology ninjas don't really help!

You still aren't reading the links. Again for the hard of thinking:

That article is apalling for the BBC. It says each woman "was injected". However the police statement it's entirely based on states only they have "launched investigations into three reports". It also states "evidence so far does not suggest that these crimes have a sexual motivation", something the BBC article doesn't mention.

I read that. And the Yorkshire police report linked to it. Again, nobody is saying that it definitely isn't happening; just that it seems very odd that none of these syringes have been found or anyone caught with them. These are investigations of reports. It's possible that there are some fucking psychos going round getting their kicks out of injecting people but why would anyone do this when there are far easier ways to poison people? The whole thing has more than a whiff of internet scare-story about it, no?

Why would the syringes be found? I'd have thought the twats doing it would keep hold of them, fingerprints, DNA etc. They're also pretty small objects, not hard to conceal.

I would have thought the recent reporting of needle spiking being a thing could be expected to put the idea into the heads of many wrong uns who would otherwise never have come up with anything so twisted on their own. So the risk of it happening is surely much higher now?

Just like acid attacks became much more widespread after early cases were publicised.

Time will tell, I guess. If there are weirdos out there mixing ketamine and rohypnol to jag lads with on the way home from football matches, or women in nightclubs, someone will get caught sooner or later.

So.... someone I know says this happened to them last night. They felt a pinprick on their leg at a nightclub, and then started feeling 'whoozy'. Been in A&E since early hours of this morning. The bit between this happening and then ending up in A&E is unclear at the moment (unclear as in not told me yet, rather than they can't recall). One of their friends at the same club is also claiming to feel drugged.

Whereabouts was the club?

You then are on the front line and can tell us if you think the response to this is adequate, or if not what more can be done
