Ministers target July 4th for reopening of England’s pubs and restaurants

Just been in to town for a haircut, was great to do something normal again. The Spoons was busy at 1030 as I went past, pints being sunk with breakfasts. The other pubs that will open are not doing so until midday, will probably pop down to my regular at some point, they have extra tables out the front and side and a marquee in the car park, signs up saying not to sit until the table has been cleaned and glasses taken away. If it’s busy we’ll not be stopping.

we have a holiday booked in Cornwall at the end of the month - deciding whether to go or not rn - it's going to be about as busy as it's ever been isn't it? 😬

Well if it's not you it'll be someone else. Everything here that can be booked up is booked up. If you come here, just don't be a cunt.

It's the supermarkets I'm worried about. We'll be back to queueing two laps of the car park and then getting in to find the shelves empty I reckon :(

Not good enough mate. Good luck with your 14 day quarantine if you ever want to come back.

Anyone care to have a guess at how many quarantine breakers have been found out/fined? Clue: Pritti Patel would cite the number as proof that people have been abiding with it 100%

The USP of our local, The Prince Alfred, is the cosy little Victorian bar. Social distancing would go out of the window if more than half a dozen people turned up and there's no garden, so I can't see us going there any time soon no matter what happens. The pubs that will be most able to cope with this are the big ones with plenty of space which generally aren't the ones which appeal much anyway. Given that Saturday is likely to be hell on earth in boozers as everyone crams themselves into anywhere that's open, I think we'll give it a miss for a couple of weeks til it all settles down a bit.
I used to go there I think , Maida Vale? Worked near there in the 90s , nice boozer.

Portuguese Police have just rolled up quick coffee brandy and takeaway

I’m in no rush at the mo tbh . Less tourism means I’ll prob go to the beach more this month and next .

Apparently the Police will only intervene if Public Health ask them to. Can’t imagine Public Health doing spot checks tbh .

We just passed a pub that isn’t packed and are sitting in the garden/front courtyard (The Warrington, Maida Vale). We had to scan a qr code at the door and fill out a track and trace form, then got shown to a table and got table service. It’s all quite pleasant and spacious and apart from the fucking about at the door, it’s fine. Haven’t been for a piss yet though.

A table full of young lads next to us have just got launched because a couple of them came through the door and filled out the form but then three or four more joined them from a side entrance. Some twats are always going to take the piss but this was dealt with very well. The guvnor went over and told them off. He said they could cost him his licence, cut them off, and gave them 10 minutes to drink up and fuck off; which they did with no drama.

Twitter's full of stuff like this today. I'd leave it if I were you.

I'm stuck in that kind of traffic every Friday night trying to get home to Anglesey, and basically nightly in summer months.

It's been the one great thing about covid - no fucking visitors.

They are allowed back on Monday and I am dreading it.
