Bahnhof Strasse
Met up with Hannah Courtoy a week next Tuesday
My barber will be opening at 9am, with three hours lead time I’m gonna be pretty steamboats by the time I go to get me hair done
Late night hairdressing is quite a thing in Brixton.Yeah, I thought I'd mis-heard that. Open at 6pm I thought they meant, but no 6am! Guess what Espresso just said makes sense. WTF though, hairdreseers opening at midnight? People really will go and get a haircut at midnight?! Humans really baffle me sometimes.
Some Afro hairstyles take a long time to do, and hairdressers can be quite sociable places, compared to the curt barbershops that just do short back and sides and you’re in an out in 15 minutes with barely a word exchangedLate night hairdressing is quite a thing in Brixton.
Yes, that's what I meant. There's a whole culture of hanging out and socialising in barbers' shop and hairdressers. A culture I clearly am not familiar with. Some Afro hairstyles take a long time to do, and hairdressers can be quite sociable places, compared to the curt barbershops that just do short back and sides and you’re in an out in 15 minutes with barely a word exchanged

I think the night will go like this for some: get thoroughly tanked up before you arrive. Drink as much as you can during your two hours. Kick up a fuss when asked to leave and piss off the staff. Buy a load of cans and sit outside the pub with your mates as they're all hoofed out. Keep on drinking. Kick off when the cops turn up.
Just generally, and long prior to Covid-times, I was becoming amazed at the number of new hairdressers/barbers opening here, over the last two or three years!
There must have been a huge suppressed demand, because both the old and new shops always seemed to be full, right into the evening, on Sundays, etc.
So I can well understand if plenty open at midnight (or very early at least), especially right now!
Good. Bloody drunksJust said on our local news that all police leave has been cancelled for this weekend.
That's how it should be... curt barbershops that just do short back and sides and you’re in an out in 15 minutes with barely a word exchanged
Not for everyoneThat's how it should be

I yearn for a world in which Willy Walls learns to make a post without using underlining, bold, italics or smileys. I’m sure it’s possible
Nah. Short back, sides, and top is the way to go. Less fucking around changing clippercombs that way.Yes. For everyone.
Everyone should be like me.
Don't understand why they couldn't have just opened it up to outdoor seating areas and relaxed the rules on street drinking.
