Anyway on efest a guy who posts on it was quick off the mark as he was already in Event Production so sent his CV and was invited down for the interview.

He had to drive a long way { a few hundred miles }

It was only when he got there did he discover it was nothing to do with GFL on the inside - in fact the job was with the Company building the fence - you can imagine he was well pissed off.

The one way system to shangri-la etc sounds horrendous but I cant see what else they can do really except split it up into different areas around the site. I usually pick a night (or 3 :p) to avoid all bands and head there around 10ish to get a good spec for the arcadia midnight show or whatever else picks my fancy. Cant wait to see the wall of death again too!

Thanks sparklefish and mysterygirl for settling my fears... Lets hope paolo is right and noone wants to camp in new family field!!!

49 sleeps!!!
:D

Usually I camp with LMHF & some others in Cockmills but I think they're looking into going into disabled this year. If they do I won't be able to camp with them cos we won't be eligible. If that happens ,I'll be sorely tempted to head to Wickets this year, although in Cockmills at least when he heads off to the kidz field on his own it won't be far for him to go & get lost... Jeez, Im glad Im not a parent!!!
Anyway, if we head to Wickets would it be OK to camp with/near you guys?

I don't recall ever showing my ticket to get in the car park!

Apologies if I've got that wrong.

Im sure I've shown mine every time I've gone into the car park. because usually I hold up the queue while I look for it in my rucksack

Only just over a week to our Info Training course in London on Sunday 22nd -- meeting fellow info people at that (including retired ones like paolo999 afterwards ;) :D ) will really make me think the great big Glasto thing is getting properly near ...

i have just read a post on the shangri la facebook page that it looks like they will have a limited capacity this year up in the late night area, to avoid the crushes. i didnt notice any the last few years as i was up there earlyish each time i was going up. will defo need to do the same this year by the sound of things..

not long now,, exciting! ! sunshine, rum, nyc downlow and late night shenanigans... all after work of course :)

I thought last year with the increase in size of that area, there was plenty of room most of the time I went up there.

from what im reading the crushes where on the way in etc, i never personally noticed them either. but the comment posted on the shangra la facebook page from their source indicates that there is a capacity limit.,.

Merlin Alderslade Does this mean that they'll be stricter with the numbers they let in guys? Shangri-La is my fave part of the festival and if it meant the area would be less crowded I'd happily come in at 9!

now i imagine the main rush hours are between 11ish and 2 or 3am... not that ive ever noticed it being that rammed that theres no room for more peeps.. but i suppose it depends where you are at that time, ie maybe on the railtrack etc trying to get in.

It's going to be interesting. Thing is how crowded were the late night areas? Shangri-La - very overcrowded, mostly due to the narrow lanes, etc. Block 9 and Common? - I never found them at all crowded. Arcadia? - it was crowded but big and spread out, so never felt crushed or dangerous to me. Unfairground? - never overcrowded at all as far as I could tell.

What did others experience?

Yeah we got crushed in shangrila and arcadia for a while last year.

They need to spread the nightlife out across the site tbh.

My ticket has arrived! :D

and I never got an email to tell me it was on its way!

so I have missed out on all the angst of when/ where/ how/what if I'm away that I usually indulge in :D

just have to worry about the w**ther :D

Company dx.co.uk doing deliveries seemly failed to deliver to my address today when a) I was in and b) didn't even put a card through my letter box.

They are cunts with the worst telephone service ever.

A guy who is helping build the wall is selling his second ticket -

contact Chipsnegg@live.co.uk for details

yes I know there is a small resale but this will be a ticket with no image on it { which is common for some of the crew } so a far better bet than buying a ticket in the hope that you will pass the face check.

please note I have never met this person so of course anyone handing over cash should make bloody certain they are genuine tickets

As far as I can see it was part of the deal of his contract to get two tickets as to the T&C of that contract I don't have a clue.

They are not a crew pass its just a ticket with no image but it will have the name of the company who issued them.

When they changed to photo id tickets - I parked in the crew carpark and was met by a WBC Staff officer who handed me a ticket with no image on it but just as I was about to move my bags up drove a Security landrover and I knew the Supervisor driving it so he offered me a lift - so piled in the bags but never got the chance to show my ticket as he drove straight in and dropped me at the WBC Camp so I cant claim to have first hand experience as I never walked in the normal ways but people who arrived after me did show their ticket with no image on it and got it.

its not as if he bought them to sell them on - it just comes with the job.

how many guests tickets get sold on for far more money than you would get for a Punter ticket ?

Like everything its buyer beware and really this is one deal that has to be done face to face - if I was after a ticket I would just offer the face value and see what he says.

Yeah, tickets without images looks slightly different but do exist and people will get in with them. They make up a tiny minority of the tickets issued.

I think that Michael Evis just got fed up with people making money selling tickets for a charitable event so did the photo thing.

We get tickets without photos for a DJ slot - it'll have a sticker with our name and venue on is all. I've walked in the pedestrian gate with that before. I'm pretty sure (but not certain) that most stewards have the same - considering how many people work on the festival in some capacity they aren't that rare

the tickets that get sent out to agents , managers accountants etc etc have no image , I have used them several times with no problem BUT you will need to get some other form of ID from the person whose name is on the ticket . I have used gas bill and phone bills previously.
