England Cricket 2015

Yup. The topsiest turviest I can remember for a long while.

Some great performances...Maybe it'll be 4-1 against the Aussies :p

 My one day out at the cricket for the year. :D

Magnificent day. Questionmarks about Cook's captaincy again at the start of the day, but credit to him for keeping the slips in. I was screaming at them 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING' as Moeen jogged to third man. Then I was jumping around with everyone else.

What do I know. :D

It was great, but it'll just mean the deeper problems get overlooked for a bit
only problem I can see is that they don't trust Moeen completely as the spinner.

Other than that, perhaps England can reinvent test cricket. Aus did it with Gilchrist, turning the no.7 spot into a proper top-order position, which others followed. Could England do the same with no.8? I don't think it's impossible. Hell of a job getting through eight proper batsmen.

Phil Tufnell even did a mock phone call to Paul Farbrace on TMS to ask why there was a bloke at third man

Me and Phil.

We were both wrong.

and i bet he's as pleased to have been wrong as I am.

Sometimes you can't argue with the result, and this is one of those times.

:cool:Cracking match and atmosphere (yesterday anyway). Can't always happen of course but Lord's full of dad's and their lads at £20 for them both, a crowd that stays in their seats (including in the Pavilion) and a lack of corporate, braying, drunken..

Let alone the way the game was played. Good bunch of blokes the kiwis.. And they did all have a beer together after as well.

I was pretty drunken, tbf. I wasn't braying, more of a non-descript 'waaaahhh' most of the time.

Atmosphere was totally ace, though. And yes, the kiwi team are excellent, too. McCullum totally shows up the idea that you need to be nasty to be competitive for what it is, a load of bollocks.

From Guardian England cricket report, 1st update:

Former PM Sir John Major has given more details on his affair with Edwina Currie stating that she dressed as Mrs Thatcher several times.

2nd update:

Ahh, it’s just been pointed out to me that the below is a spoof Twitter account. Good spot, James Dart.

:D

Record for Cook, too. All good stuff.
