England Cricket 2015

I hope they go out there tomorrow morning with licence to slog then pull out after 10 overs.

I fear they won't do that. They'll bat for well over an hour to get a 400 lead.

They highlighted that match against Sri Lanka where we left them 430 or something, and they drew the match with 9 wickets down... I suspect you're right.

I'm guessing they'll bat til Cooks wicket goes, probably around lunch. 175, 467 balls, drawn test.

We're only 1 wicket away from being all out - long batting lineup, 3 number 11s. If Ali or Cook get out early, it'll be another 20 runs of bat swinging and that's that. A declaration might not come into it.

Well Stokes isn't going to go anywhere for the moment, excellent from him and Cook, and Root in the runs again.

He might have a golden arm tomorrow! He was wayward and expensive in the first innings, but also unlucky.

In some ways it's a shame England weren't bowled out this evening. I just hope they're bold tomorrow. McCullum would be. I don't think McCullum always gets it right, but I do like the way he is always trying to win. Even in the last hour today, NZ were trying to bowl England out to give themselves a chance to win. I like that a lot.

Hopefully Cook will declare overnight but I wouldn't be surprised if he kept batting until lunch tomorrow to kill the game off. If Moeen gets out then Cook will fancy his chances of carrying the bat.

Unless it rains in the morning, I can guarantee you that Cook will not declare overnight. McCullum might have done that, but no chance Cook.

He won't bat until lunch either, though, I hope. That would be very disappointing.

But I think you underestimate him if you think he'd bat on for personal glory. The glory is the famous victory.

TBH I won't blame Cook too harshly for not declaring straight away. I'd expect the Kiwi's to chase 295 successfully on this wicket, maybe if England had a full time spinner things might be different but with the current bowling attack, nah.

Well assuming Anderson doesn't last long NZ are looking at about 350 in just under 80 overs, roughly 4.5 an over. Not easy but very doable on this wicket.

23 runs from Cook's wicket to all out. Who could possibly have seen that coming?

4.5 an over, near enough all day on a day 5 pitch - surely not. NZ to get plenty of early runs quickly, lose a few wickets, then give up the chase and fizzle out for the draw.
