Donald Trump, the road that might not lead to the White House!

I agree that there is a lot more things that could be done but TBH the will do do something about Trump is very sadly lacking - instead we seem to have got stuck at a tacit acceptance and tolerance of his entire "vision" and worldview, which includes much of his contempt for people.

And remember that Trump himself showed no hesitation when trying to promote bans, restrictions and even direct attacks against anyone who raised even the mildest objection to his activities.
Sturgeon has now removed Trump as a "Global Scot" business ambassador. (The invitation to him to take the role in the first place had come from Jack McConnell).

Isn't it usually targeted at people advocating violence, which is not what Trump has done? It's generally been used against the political right too (jihadis, fash, holocaust loons etc.)

With that many people going to the 'effort' of pushing a few buttons on a computer, it will equate to enough people actually getting off their arse to actually protest him causing public order offences...so there is a case (a strong one).
Don't like the principle however and thought (wrongly) the petition came about after his barring comments (taking a Trump solution to deal with Trump validates Trump)

the only thing that's likely to result in this is just better security during any visit to the UK he does happen to make. It's the political equivalent of one of those 'share this picture and bill gates will give you $5000' things dickheads share on facebook.

Hmm, plenty of precedence for speech like his being taken as advocating violence.

which we tax payers will have to pay for. At some point on the scale it can't be justifiable, which presumably will be one side of the parliamentary debate, Voltaire I may not agree with you....shaping the other

Meanwhile, in another part of the forest:

Yes - and with student societies in RGU picking-up on his degree, that's a more positive result that has been got so-far.

If the petitions help make aspects of the government and bodies/institutions who lined-up to support Trump unquestioningly, regardless of his obvious personal and commercial failings, then its a good result. :)

Now if Aberdeenshire would only dissolve their "strategic partnership" with the cunt but I fear they are so far up Trump's arse that only surgery will shift them!

He already uses "presidential" levels of security when he comes here - The amount of money spent on police in support of his goons and letting them behave like a law unto themselves is already an issue.

In Aberdeenshire? How great is his genuine support locally?

mm, you know lots of people spoke out about Hitler too, so was the original also bollocks?
h
Yes, I know about Pastor Niemoller and my complaint isn't about what he said but about its misappropriation to the present circumstances. It's easy to speak out now, and lots of people are speaking out. It's good to speak out. It was hard to speak out in his circumstances and we hold his homily cheap if we fail to recognise that.

ETA. The thing is, he wasn't initially a librul. Martin Niemöller - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
