Hardly getting over it.
The Trump petition calling for him to be barred from entering the UK has reached over 150,000 signatures.
Well, that will certainly tell him what's what. The Trump petition calling for him to be barred from entering the UK has reached over 150,000 signatures.

Seeing as the amount of signatories received now compels the government to officially respond to the request to ban him from the UK on hate speech grounds, I'd say it's been very effective indeed. With over 100k signatures, the matter will now be considered for debate.Well, that will certainly tell him what's what.
The UK has banned entry to many individuals for hate speech. The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the UK.
If the United Kingdom is to continue applying the 'unacceptable behaviour' criteria to those who wish to enter its borders, it must be fairly applied to the rich as well as poor, and the weak as well as powerful.
Let's see how that pans out for him in the press if the signature total keeps rising.Osborne (deputising for Cameron at PMQs) has said that he won't act on it, anyway.
not really, no.Isn't there a protocol that prevents the government interfering in other countries' elections?
should have let him in and then sent him for a walkabout on his tod"Those politically correct liberals want to ban me, so what I'm saying must be right".
It plays perfectly into his narrative.

Well, that's one way to twist it. I'd say it also sends out quite a different message, with people from all walks of life in the UK - including the PM and Boris - lining up to criticise his idiotic claims and messages."Those politically correct liberals want to ban me, so what I'm saying must be right".

People from all walks of life line up to criticise his idiotic claims and messages in the US already. Don't see quite what this adds - some stuff from people in a country many of his supporters will only dimly be aware of. Probably European socialists of some kind. And no doubt freedom-haters.Well, that's one way to twist it. What action do you think the uk government will take against the billionaire possible future president of the United states, should those signatures keep going up?Let's see how that pans out for him in the press if the signature total keeps rising.
fucking hell.people in a country many of his supporters will only dimly be aware of. Probably European socialists of some kind. And no doubt freedom-haters.
They should be consistent with their official policy on banning individuals on the grounds of hate speech, regardless of their wealth or power. What action do you think the uk government will take against the billionaire possible future president of the United states, should those signatures keep going up?
Perhaps. I'm going to be consistent with my policy of not supporting the banning of people on the grounds of hate speech. They should be consistent with their official policy on banning individuals on the grounds of hate speech, regardless of their wealth or power.
I'm very confident that the vast majority of Americans - including Trump supporters - are more than 'dimly aware' of the UK/England/Britain.People from all walks of life line up to criticise his idiotic claims and messages in the US already. I'm not.I'm very confident that the vast majority of Americans - including Trump supporters - are more than 'dimly aware' of the UK/England/Britain.
That's a different issue in this case though. Do you think the UK should be consistent with its existing rules, or should they make exceptions for the rich and powerful? That is what the petition is about.Perhaps. I'm going to be consistent with my policy of not supporting the banning of people on the grounds of hate speech.
Thanks for sharing your wild conjecture.I'm not.
I don't assent to the existing rules. Calling for those rules to somehow be used fairly only legitimises the idea of them. That's a different issue in this case though. I lived in the states for a couple of years. Met plenty of people who didn't really know where the UK was. Thanks for sharing your wild conjecture.
So you're OK with rules you personally don't like only being used against the poor and weak and not against the rich and powerful?I don't assent to the existing rules. Calling for those rules to somehow be used fairly only legitimises the idea of them.
I'm not ok with them being used against anybody. And for the reason stated, I don't think calling for their use in this case is in any way helpful. So you're OK with rules you personally don't like only being used against the poor and weak and not against the rich and powerful?
I've lived and worked there too and I've never met anyone who didn't know about England/UK/Britain so I simply don't believe your claim about 'many' Trump supporters. But, no matter.I lived in the states for a couple of years. Met plenty of people who didn't really know where the UK was.
Hahaha. I can see I'm wasting my time here.I'm not ok with them being used against anybody. And for the reason stated, I don't think calling for their use in this case is in any way helpful.
Do you think they'll do this because of this petition? They should be consistent with their official policy on banning individuals on the grounds of hate speech, regardless of their wealth or power.
