Ukraine invasion memes and viral content

What makes you think that those on the beach were attackers, racists or murderers?
Let's keep a sense of proportion. I wouldn't doubt there was some genuine panic, frightened kids etc, but at the end of the day the extent of their suffering is they heard a loud bang and the ice cream van shut up early. Plus they get a cool story to tell, so long as they're careful not to mention seeing any missiles.

I know that they were happy to go and holiday in the annexed territory of a country that they as a nation have invaded. That doesn’t exactly speak of hostility to the raping and murdering being performed in their names by their government. I didn’t say that they were attackers. I said that the Ukrainians would view them as bearing responsibility. And their decision to have that holiday in this occupied territory, which tacitly — if not actively — supports this invasion certainly argues that the Ukrainian view on this one is reasonable.
Your problem is that you think you know more than you probably do.

You don't know if all those on the beach were even from Russia. Do you think it is somehow wrong for Crimeans to take holidays on their own beaches? Do you think that Russian children on holiday with their parents took a passive or even active in supporting the invasion? Given its history do you even know if the Crimean people even regard themselves as being Ukrainian and being occupied? What if they actually would prefer to be Russian or if they'd rather be independent of both brutal big brothers?

Ah, the "War is just a big adventure for kids" argument.

The implication of rejecting that a bit of schadenfreude on the part of the Ukrainians is understandable (regarding this footage), is that you think it is not understandable. You want to tut at them for finding it funny that these holidaymakers in an occupied land got scared for a bit. If that’s your position then fine, but I disagree.

The "hearing an explosion isn't the same as being in an explosion" argument.

Seriously, in the context of everything that's happened in Ukraine this year, we're expected to observe due sensitivity towards some people who heard an explosion and went back to their hotels?

Hundreds if not thousands of Ukrainian children killed by indiscriminate Russian shelling, thousands more with one or both parents killed/deported to deep within Russia/tortured in "filtration camps," millions more traumatised by the Russian invasion of their homeland, millions uprooted and living as refugees either abroad or displaced within Ukraine - I certainly don't wish harm on Russian children but I don't understand why there's so much hand-wringing about a few of them having an upsetting experience on holiday because their stupid parents took them to a beach next to an airbase during a war.
