Local Newspaper Headlines!

Someone had one delivered to work and gave me a slice. There was so much sugar in everything it was like eating a dessert. Yuck 🤮
On any "special occaision" my boss always buys loads of Dominos Pizzas for everyone and half of them don't get eaten. They are overated. I prefer Pizza Hut or Papa Johns as far as the "chains" go.

Oh dear. There are many better chains. Prezzo was a go to for a while, Franco Mancas, Zizzi, Zia Lucas and a really good one to finish with, 400 Rabbits.

ravel: intransitive verb

  2. To clarify by separating the aspects of.
  3. To tangle or complicate.
one of those words that means two opposite things. Sounds like a load of Boleros to me

Eta a contronym

Someone at Cambridge attempted to register a New Testament Society, and it was nearly approved.

Until someone realised the implications of being able to call it the Cambridge University New Testament Society.
allegedly, the Cambridge University Naval Training Squadron actually turned up for the first world war with the acronym on the hat bands.

Weirdly, ravel and unravel mean exactly the same thing.

Like ‘cleave’

A WREXHAM man walked from his place of work in Cheshire back home, counting and photographing every pothole along the way.

Rad Marciak walked 17 miles from his place of work near Cholmondeley Castle back to his home in Wrexham on Saturday.
The 43-year-old was prompted to do so by the amount of potholes he faces on his daily commute to work. Along the way, he photographed over 250 potholes and damaged road surfaces along Blue Bell Lane, A534 Wrexham Road, Barton Road, Broxton Road, Barnhill Road, Salters Lane, Long Lane and Bickerton Road.

And, one of those classic local newspaper photos, as a bonus! D

The two senses of 'cleave' looking the same is just coincidence, though, because they come from different words; remnants of this can be seen in the difference in the past tenses. 'Ravel' and 'unravel' being equivalent is just the language being irrational because it can.

I don't know what's better, that they decided this was a worthy story to publish, or that they've measured how far the bag 'travelled' in time rather than distance :D
