I think calling that a life sentence for the victims demeans the victim.

I think calling punishment for their rapist 'justice' is pretty demeaning tbh. Justice would be nobody being raped in the first place. Everything after the fact is, at best, injustice mitigation.

If there is an inquiry it should be focused on the question, how and why did the government fail to act on the recommendations of the previous inquiry?

Maybe wrong, but I got the impression on the Starmer time up thread, you were against another national enquiry. Rather than as Phillips has suggested more focussed local enquiries where needed. What's the point of another national one, when the last one that took 7 years has not had it's recommendations fully implemented.
