In the pub tonight most people said they favoured Nicola Sturgeon. What a pity this is S E UK..

I once talked my brother into spending his pocket money on plastic "X-Ray specs" in a toy shop. We got them home all excited, but even aged 8 and 6 we could tell they were just shit. I felt an aching remorse that I'd made him waste his money. Clearly I'm not cut out to be First Minister. :(

but did you do it satanically? thats the crux of it.
Not Satanically, I suppose. But I did expect to see through stuff. Like see actual bones. Maybe see through walls. Maybe spy on people.

It was a real let down to discover it was just a bit of plastic that made you go cross eyed.

Not sure I really understand though. In England, obviously there's the evil SNP/scrounging Jocks holding the country to ransom so better vote Tory/not Labour bollocks.

But in Scotland, people are presumably going WTF? and possibly more likely to vote SNP as a result of this nonsense. Or it a ploy by the Murdoch press to do just that? Or is it all just random bollocks..?

It was the English edition.

It's wonderfully mad. Is it even possible to "hack" hair off a Sindy doll? I mean "hack" involves a sort of wild and fierce sawing at stuff, and there isn't that much hair on a wee doll to allow for much "hacking", devilish or not. Ach, wait, who am I to tell the Murdoch press about hacking?

Re. Danny la rouge's second picture, I had forgotten how horrible those damn dolls were - shit, her waist is about the width of her head. :hmm:

I and my brothers used to throw the teddy bear downstairs then jump on its tummy to make it squeak, so I reckon I'm in the running to be a devilish dictator. I must see about buy a white cat and maybe a gun or something.

Well, I reckon it's to scare people off voting SNP, and I'm not sure quite why it should. I *think*, though, they may be playing with the trope of "evil psychopathic killers often who early signs of their devilish nastiness even as children". Or maybe not. We would probably all have to read the "Sun" regularly in order to be properly able to interpret its nastiness properly, and understand the mindset of its readers, and obviously that's not going to happen.

I really can't see it being a ploy by Murdoch to get people to vote SNP out of contrariness - Murdoch is not keen on independence and not keen on SNP - supported by too many lefties and greenies (although I can't recall his exact words right now). There's no chance of Scotland voting in a lot of Tories, so the idea here is to avoid scary Nicola and vote Labour, I suppose.

(Trying to get my head round the sun*, I find myself wondering why they have missed a chance to do some kind of headline/joke/crap thing/pun concerning vague similarity between "Nicola" and "knickers".)

* figuratively, that is, as I am not completely deranged. :)

You'd think it would make more sense to tell us why Labour is so good, rather than demonising a party leader who isn't standing for election.

I wonder what sort of stuff Jim Murphy got up to as a kid. Likewise Margaret Curran, Ian Davidson, Anas Sarwar etc.

Apart from a few off-message ex-Grandees, the party of capital and their deep-state allies can't be seen to support their English opposition in Scotland. But they can attempt to smear/discredit/demonise the nationalists which also helps to undermine the 'legitimacy' of the opposition's post May 7th coalition building.

I reckon it's now about discrediting any Labour administration that will rely on SNP votes in some form or another.

if we do see a snp-lab arrangement of any kind expect wall to wall utterly mental hectoring from the english r/w press. It's about all they have atm, their horse isn't winning so its wail time

Aw, but I want to hear all about good old "JimforScotland" and his heroic deeds. :D Did you know he had his hair cut today?

Yes exactly that. The Sun is just parroting the Tory line about Labour being in thrall to the SNP. Cameron has been saying this for a while now.

Socialism in one form or another was part of the family furniture. My Dad's heroes were Jimmy Maxton and Keir Hardy, both committed Home Rulers. My maternal granddad's heroes were John Maclean and James Connolly, both Marxist-Leninists and in different ways pro independence from Britain. I grew up with that sort of talk, as I know did many others in Scotland. That heritage was indivisible from being a socialist in Scotland.

Where my mum and dad live the streets are MacLean Crescent, Maxton Crescent, Keir Hardie Road and Bevan Drive. The Labour council at the time didn't build them, but they sure as hell named them.

I have just ĺ looked up Mary Barbour a powerful precursor to Nicola Sturgeon. The Scots Socialists don't mess around. :)
