Glastonbury 2014

Oh fuckstix I'm not in the country for the resale

Got to hope something comes up

*polishes good karma*

Green Stewards just said this in their newsletter, if anyone is looking for work still:

We released the first batch of places for Glastonbury in February and they were snapped up very quickly, as expected. We are in a position to release a few more places - once these are taken, we will be fully staffed for this year. The places will go up for grabs on Thursday 10th April at 10pm. You will need to opt-in to the event through our website. So even if you have already registered your interest, you will need to go to your account and click the 'opt-in' button.

So this year at Glastonbury, we'll be back in the amazing Arcadia area, with its fire tornados, tesla electricity fights and the spider dance floor for 'Sensory blasting, boundary breaking, immersive experiences'!!

To work at Glastonbury Festival, you must complete the festival's own training. This will mean attending a training session before the event. If you've done the Glastonbury Festival training in the past 5 years then you wouldn't need to attend. We apologise to anyone who will find this a barrier - this condition is being set by the festival, not us! In addition, you either must have your Spectator Safety NVQ or be doing it this season. Ideally you should come to the training camp in May but we'll also be delivering an NVQ course at the festival.

Just checking the Tune-Yards tour dates...suspicious gap 27-29 June...has to be another definite.

seems like there's some kind of deliberation over the saturday headliner, though it's looking like it's gonna be metallica apparently

i dunno, i'm not a metal fan in the slightest but i saw them at reading 08 purely out of interest and it was pretty rad. i reckon enter sandman on the pyramid would be huge

Oh well that would certainly take the sting out of having to take the child home on Sunday night so he can go to school. I was dreading it being someone I wanted to see.

word is that arcadia's on the move again, to a 20k capacity field somewhere near the park, and the glade's back in the woods - both good news i'd say

I managed to almost completely miss the Park last year, went into the Rabbit Hole on the Thursday when it rained but the secret bit wasn't open so kind of missed the whole point. I saw that bit about Arcadia but isn't it hilly up there?

I would like to see Daft Punk headline there. Not because I have a great love for them, but because I think it would be amazing if they did the light-up-pyramid on stage thing, but with the actual Pyramid Stage. Like cover the whole thing with LED panels. that would be so cool.

Someone did something like that, was it Coldplay? Something like projection mapping over the outside... I was a way away but remember seeing it.

oh well they just released a partial line up on facebook. Some interesting acts on, cue a load of comments about how the line-up sucks. If you're only going to the Pyramid, Other and John Peel stages (where most of the big acts will be I imagine) then you've kind of missed the point of glastonbury, no?

Well the Pyramid headliners are predictably shit, but twas ever thus. But I've seen plenty for me so far on the line up released today so I'm pleased :)
