Glastonbury 2014

tbh, with the electronic music - a lot of the DJs who really do it for me (and there were some stunning DnB, Jungle, Breakcore etc line ups in the Common & Unfairground) I can find playing out in Bristol most months. Otoh, the bands in the daytime/evening I may not always get to see.

This is my excuse for not being a late night person anymore. Def not because I'm old or nothing

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is feeling the weight of my years at Glastonbury. I think I definitely have to reconsider my camping strategy if I want to continue going.

We camped in family this year with JTG and others. It were right lovely, and we had lateish nights most nights. We were home between 2am and 5am every night but it was peaceful enough to get a few hours kip no probs :) I can't be doing with the hardcore party fields these days :D

I'm thinking of taking my little one next year. He'll be 3. So its either family camping or a trailer tent job.
Which field were you in by the way, wasn't too much of a trek was it?

We were in Cockmills which is behind the Acoustic so not much of a trek. I believe the other family camping is up the top of the site so a further trek, but there's much more space. So it's a bit swings and roundabouts. It's still not too bad a trek for grown ups but if he's wanting to walk it might be a bit of a pain in the arse.

This is a real shot in the dark type request but I'm trying to find the name of a stall I saw at Glastonbury last year. I was going to find them this year but I only lasted til Friday morning for various reasons...

Anyway, it's a handmade leather bag stall.
They were in the main market, towards the meeting point/Williams green. I think in the middle row of the market.

I know they had a website because I looked them up when I got home but I can't find it now.

Any ideas? :D

Mate, how was your festival? Give us a run-down, cos you was quite nervous about going alone, weren't you?

Short! I left on Friday morning.

I'm off sick at the moment (MH issues) and it was a silly idea to go really. Oh well I tried and hopefully I'll be back next year.

Looks like you had a good one. :)

I have read everyone's post Glastonbury reports but was so gutted I avoided this thread for a bit.

Oh I see. Well ne'er mind - good job it's on (almost) every year. Get all recuperated and ready for the next one!

What was working 'G bar' like (does anyone but Avalon call it that?)? Don't think i met anyone on it. I was thinking about the electronic thing. I like house and techno a lot but I think at Glastonbury because everyone DJing is at the top of their game it's hard to find a bad set, so after a while it just becomes one. Also maybe you're less likely to spend long at a particular set and really get drawn in.

working at the glade (i never call it the G Bar either) was great, the bar was only really busy on the thursday night for sasha. The bar is in a good position to get a decent sound from the stage. there was a good bit of variation on the stage from bands to djs so it was not as much dj overdose in beats as the Liquid Bar was in silver hayes (where i worked last year). we had a fair bit of time to take plenty of alternate breaks to go out and see a bit of the acts. the glade being central on the site also meant it was easy for where ever we wanted to go at break, after shift or before shift, it meant less time walking occasionaly, and when you have limited party time it all mattered :) . i would happily take the glade again in a second... but only if they agreed not to put cassette boy on when im on shift.. that was a right fcking racket when on an early after a good night hard at it.
