Glastonbury 2008

i've got a plastic box with a lid.

it was the indentikit plastic box and trolley combo i was talking about

I've been contemplating my wheelbarrow. While I think that this will give me a fighting chance of getting everything to where I want to go in one hit, if it's muddy it will be a bitch to move & I suspect will be harder work than 2 (admittedly long) walks. So, good idea as it seems, and as much as I know I will regret it, wheelie is staying home.

Cooking isn't going to be high on my list of priorities, and with mobility problems Im not making a point of going back to my tent to eat later in the day. So I'll take limited food - Im a bit short of inspiration on that score anyway, I got as far as teabags & milk before I started thinking 'ummmmmm......' Good job I don't have kids, they'd starve if they had to hang out with me for too long!

Silver blanket is lost. Lost, I tell you!

Got those takeaway containers. They're great! If I get around to it tomorrow I might cook some meals, freeze them in those takeaway containers & then chuck them in a bag before I leave. They'll act like ice blocks & last a couple of days, longer if it's not too warm.

But - priorites. Tea. In the morning. :)

ETA : paulo's glasto earth is up & running again, if anyone's interested?

it does :) its been raining and thundering here all evening though but as long as thats gone by monday I dont care.

Forecasts tomorrow for gales in northern england so hopefully that wi . . . jesus i sound like william!

I the plastic box queen already Im afraid, weve moved so many times we have plastic boxes for that purpose:oops:
Ive go myself a granny shopping trolley for sleeping bags etc and a folding one for the tent, chairs etc
Dragging kit for 5 out of the car is going to be an absolute bitch without some sort of trolley

Don't forget that the ground is really rough and could be muddy so little wheels probably won't be much help. My mums sack trucks we borrowed last year didn't have pneumatic tyres and barely made it out of the car parks before breaking.

holy shit... look at this... a big fat SUN at bbc weather for thursday (after some light showers on wednesday).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1138

the forecast seems to be consistently improving, and it seems more and more likely that we get at least one day of nice weather. YAAAAAAAAAAY!

It's because I bought all those ponchos. *nods wisely*
I will see if I can get more tomorrow. :D

Init!

*points & laughs*

I can't seem to get onto it, not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Are you getting the message that says about bandwidth/pageviews?

No, I was just being rubbish. Got it now. :)

Good oh. :)

If anyone has any more probs with this, please do pm and i'll get onto it (or email admin@glastoearth.com - I get that mail on my phone automatically, so less easy to miss).

(Been having a nightmare with hosting - from Google of all people. Never expected that. Pretty much everything barring the initial page is now migrated to a paid-for hosting service. Whom I expect to pull the plug when they clock how popular it is, but we seem to be up for the time being)

Wiskey stages a weather coup in William's absence. :D

point & laugh, it's funny :D

Thats' it for me, I've spent so much time studying paulo's handywork I didn't realise it was so late! Im hungry (forgot to eat) and the cat's trying to evict me as he sleeps where I'm sitting.

G'night!

I'm just taking the opportunity to once again promote the Saturday afternoon appearance on the Avalon stage of the godfathers of trip hop themselves, the Wurzels.

Pill, Pill, I love thee still
Even though I'm leaving
Pill, Pill, I love thee still
When the ferry boat starts heavin
When the rain down pours, the thunder roars
The lightnin flashes bright
I'll be better by far in The Duke or The Star
Than on the Old Pill Ferry tonight

I shall be there, I hope you all will as well

That latest forecast's looking a bit more promising. Maybe Thursday's sun might dry things out a bit from the day before.

I went to one in the late eighties/early nineties (1990? The Happy Mondays were on) where it chucked it down on the Thursday, turned the place into a quagmire but blazing sunshine on the Friday dried it all out and it was fine for the rest of the weekend.

And if you think William's obsessed with the weather - I've been checking it and I'm not even going. :D
