Glastonbury 2008

My death weight is all because I'm such an ace guy :)

10kg gazebo, for everyone else to share, 10kg of double mattress and tent, for the GF to share. I think the only truly 'me' stuff is one 900g ultralight sleeping bag. Bunch of feckers are coming by car, and barring the GF, leaving it as late as possible because they don't want to use up holiday. So I get to make the camp, arriving by train. Grr!

The GF bless her said, even after being in total fear of the festival (never been to one before), "well, I might aswell get up at 5am and get there first thing". I will use this of course, to accuse the rest of my gang of being lightweights :)

Sorry, was I going off on one there? Erm, back the programme... :)

Hoorah! looking forward to the Piedubvanmobile myself. Will bring plastic bottles of (unspiced) rum and not that much stuff, honest.

You lead the singing...

we have progression

soooo this is where we are now.

I have twilight pilgrim and whibley (currently trying to mud proof a pair of dm's) and I have packed the heap into a bag and it all fits. decided to take out a jumper which might be a mistake but two should do.

Now I have an even bigger heap in the living room. 4 peoples stuff. and no-ones overpacked but its a proper mountain! still got jittugs to pick up.

After a day or so of de-exciting, all this talk of packing and vans is sending me into "zombie excitement" level. An hour or two ago, in my local...

Barmaid: "Stella?"
me: "ooh yeah. Stella weather!"
her: "about time!"
me: "yeah, I'm off to..."

By tomorrow, I probably won't even be able to top up an Oyster card without finding some way of talking about the festival.

Gerry1time is on site and reports the site is lovely and not a spot of mud anywhere :)

I've just scooped it all into the rucksack and it was all fitting perfectly til we remembered a few more last minute essentials now I think some repacking is going to have to happen.

Just went mad in Halfords and brought a new bigger tent at half price

I am now officially, officially excited!! Sun? What's that, Sun, you say???
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!
:):):):)

Its not a trailer tent is it??

As I walked down to meet T-P earlier the people 10 doors down were sorting out their van ready for glasto :D

We aren't getting there till Thursday afternoon now. Any idea where a good place to camp for 10 (I think) + Gazebo will be? Given I've never stayed anywhere other than the dragon before I'm slightly terrified I'm going to get lost. Or repeatadly end up the dragon field at 6am in the morning before remembering I'm not camped there

There's probably more of that in Bristol than any other city right now. Just walking around and seeing all the cars with car park stickers on afterwards shows you how many people go. Some parts of the city are like a ghost town over Glasto weekend.

I tried to persuade some friends to come with their kids, saying how lovely it would be to get away from 'everyone' in Hackney.

She said: No it's fine - there's noone around that weekend ;)

has anybody looked at the weather??

you mean Williams behaviour wasn't a clue?

he's got it BAD

And it's contagious...... lol

Blimey TG, you're sorted. Can you get your mate to pop back and get some of my stuff too? I reckon I'm up to 30kg now... All going on my back. :(

I dont' really understand how Im taking so little clothes & yet so much stuff... Pretty much packed now but again there's so much of it!
