How do you keep things dry

If it rains just accept you'll get wet and have a dry set of clothes waiting in your tent.

at do you carry with you when you go out for the day?

Drugs and booze.

What are your best security tips?

Don't take drugs and get totally drunk in front of coppers.

what are your favourite things to do/places to go when the 'official' entertainment is over?

Take drugs and drink booze.

What are your best tips for keeping warm, both at night and during the day?

Take drugs and drink booze. You'll still be cold but you won't give a fuck.

Thank you Riff. Can relax now and just worry about the weather. :D

No worries, but in another thread he's now saying take your original cerificate. Obviously, you can put it in the lock-ups once you have got in and collected your wristband.

We didn't get our carpark sticker with our tickets either - anyone else got theirs?

you think he'd ask me wouldn't you

car park tickets are being sent out via royal mail separately to entry tickets

The Questions:

How do you keep things dry, and what's the best way to dry things if they do get wet? (Sorry William, but it is a possibility)
store them properly in your tent, to dry they need space which you won't have in a tent so keep some dry clothes spare

What do you carry with you when you go out for the day? How do you keep this light and uncumbersome?
backpack with camera, phone, purse, booze, waterproof something and usually lots of bees' stuff that he forgets he wants to take with him and that don't go in his "booze and drugs" category :p :D

What are your best security tips?
huh? don't act like a twat in front of coppers :D

Glastonbury festival is a 24 hour affair, what are your favourite things to do/places to go when the 'official' entertainment is over?
usually in a mess with the mooses or will and stig or tort - they tend to not go to bed :D otherwise whereever I happen to have decided would be a good plac to go *see Bees' answer

What are your best tips for keeping warm, both at night and during the day?
totally with bees on this one, get pissed an dyou won't care :D also use the lockups and store warm clothes etc near th main areas so you don't have to trudge back to camp to collect anything

Great. Severely doubt my passport will be back in time and googling "citizenship card Britain" and other appropriate words isn't actually coming up with anything... I'm completely screwed.

If anyone has any practical advice or calming words please come to my aid... :(

Can't endorse this point enough. We can't be arsed trudging back and forth to the van, so we put a rucksack of coats, blankets, booze and jumpers in the lockup by the Avalon stage on Wednesday and take items in and out as we need them over the weekend. It does mean the lovely lock-up peeps having to give us a new receipt every time, so we bung a few coins in their collection box.

Mr Mooses's woolly jumper is another story all together, though. It dosses down in other peoples' tents, cos it prefers to be in the thick of things, then stays on at the festival after we've left, takes a couple of week's holiday touring Britain, before meeting up with us at WOMAD. :)

Well the latest on our tickets is that we'll get them delivered to Stig's workplace tomorrow!!

BUT!!!

We had heard NOTHING beyond an email to Stig saying they were ABOUT to be delivered.

Yet the SMS bods who Stig phoned this morning, told her that an attempt had been made to deliver them on Friday 3rd June!!!!

(was that BEFORE the above email to you, Stig??? )

No card left, no email with word of failed delivery -- definitely

Still, looking like it will end safely, but I'll relax properly when they are in our hands at the end of tomorrow. I'd been starting to worry!

Your latest weather check, whether you want it or not!!

This, for what it's worth, looks pretty encouraging :

OK - last night's GFS runs [ie the pressure area predictions from the evening of Monday 13th June] still show fantastic weather up until Sunday. Sunday is the problem at the moment. Being that far out it's a question of whether the high pressure holds, or whether it gets shunted east by a developing, but very weak, low trough in the Atlantic (which is a new feature on the charts). My money is that the HP will more or less hold, with the fronts going over the north and a breezy but very warm Sunday from a southerly wind. Either way Thursday through to Saturday at the moment looks simply fantastic - masses of sunshine and warmth. My confidence for that coming off on those days is 80% or more. Assuming the glorious weather begins later this week - which it will - there's a very good chance we may go to the site on the Wednesday and start soaking up the vibe in the sunshine.

Less positive, but still pretty rainfree in their projections, are those miserable curmudgeons at MetCheck whose forecast was posted at 11:00 this morning on efestivals. Metcheck are NOTORIOUS for underestimating temperatures so ignore those (they say 18C or even 15C, but all others are sayinga lot warmer), the main thing for the moment is that they've removed all trace of rain from thier forecast, for the first time. They must have HATED doing that! :p

They chop and change from day to day though (sometimes more than once a day), so still early days.

have a look there AS and see if you can find anything

the cut off date for ID cards is 16th June so you've still got time :), though you need to pay and urgency fee now (£15 I think)

good luck!

xx
Cheers aqua! Found out my passport comes back Wednesday morning as well so I could just get a later coach too (me and Crispy are booked on the 9am from Victoria - thats so early  ). But considering I'll be needing it in July it might be best anyway to try and get a citizenship card.

Has anyone else here had to do this and how long does it take to get back?
