Glastonbury 2005

eeh those buggers! I wondered if something like that might be the case - so part used it (along with oplaying with my new computer) as an excuse to go home for lunch!

It's not Royal Mail special delivery it's a company called SDS as I found out yesterday when I chased the postie down the road to ask him where my letter was!!

They turned up in the afternoon by courier.

Does anyone know what happens if you're at work/not in???

normally leave a card and arrange re-delivery, or pick up from a depot a million miles away.

Hopefully I'll let you know for sure in just a few minutes (ie as soon as it stops raining I'm buggerring off back home)

Pretty much what belboid said. The guy that delivered mine was using his own car so presume he was local but don't know about other areas.

further update - my mates have just got a text that SDS just tried to deliver - please call to re-arrange!

You have to rearrange delivery mate but you can have them delivered to your work address if needs be. There will be a number to call on the card. Just give them a bell & sort out whatever is most convenient.

Trollies.......

I want to get a trolley - a collapsable(sp) one.

I wanted a Badger one like many on efests have but they have sold out - (I wonder why) ;)

Any recommendations? I used a wheelbarrow last year but it drove us nearly mad and took up a lot of space in the car. There aren't any coarse fishing (that expression always makes me snigger) up here - so probably has to be mail order which means I must sort it out pronto.

Or does anyone know a good angling type shop in north east London - I have a few days there before I go on to Glasto.

Re Trolleys

Have a look on ebay. I got a really sturdy fold up tubular steel fishing trolley for £6- and they delivered it! The woman who dropped it off said that she was just pleased to get the trolley out of her dining room as he husband had far too many fishing bits :D

Hehheehee! :D

I bet she sold without him knowing about it - sounds just like my husband only it's old newspapers and books with him :D and computer parts  and sound recording stuff

Now I've just got an e-mail saying they've attempted to deliver and left a card. If they left a card, why do they need to e-mail? Probably because they never attempted to deliver and so haven't left any card at all! Cheeky sods.

 You too eh? Aparently they tried to deliver yesterday. I didn't get a card and i was in for most of the day. The woman in the call centre said 'oh, another phantom delivery- i've had a lot of these today'

makes good economic sene to them I reckon - cheaper to get you to call a craply paid call centre worker to arrange a definite time, than it is to pay someone to physically drive to your house with it if you're not going to be in. cheeky mofo's.

i just got a gazeebo :D

Where did you get yours from?

Ours was a tenner in Wilkinsons. Saw one in Woolies for 8 quid, sent nathansears to get it and it was just the window panels.

Hopefully it is sorted. :)

But I was just thinking = didn't you have a lot of ticket trouble about 2 years ago- Aloud refusing your card or something? (I have an autistic memory)

Bad luck :(

Yes, I accidentally ordered 6 tickets instead of 3 . Way Behind phoned me and asked me which ones I wanted cancelled. They then took money for 6 tickets, then cancelled all 6.

It took a bit of complaining to Way Behind and the Festival Office before I got sorted. GFL were really helpful, Way Behind were not. That's the Radio Edit of my 2002 disaster.

Just checked the Ticket Tracker and my tickets have been dispached - allegedly. Phoned my oldies to tell them to keep an eye on the door as SMS seem to be a bit erratic with their deliveries.

For more info, lookon TOS and eFestivals.

Our tickets are with the courier and will be delivered to my partner's work on Monday. Couriers never both to even try because we have a security door and it's too much effort for them to call the caretaker. Still, at least we know where they are.

 :)

Easy, then! :)

I've had a Glasto ticket delivered to my workplace in the past (2000 I think  ) -- no problem!! :)

Just updated BBC 4 week forecast ... CUNTS!!!!!!!!!

For fucks sake, this always happens.

They promise us a good June (they did last year) then this happens ...

ANOTHER FUCKING CHANGE -- for the much worse ...

BBC updated four week forecast (just updated this morning)

(what makes it worse is that the weather is set to turn good, this week and next ... )

BBC 4 week forecast said:
Monday 20th June to Sunday 3rd July : Unsettled : rain for most
The end of the month brings us Glastonbury Festival, the Summer Solstice and of course Wimbledon gets underway on the 20th. Needless to say (the weather must be psychic) things may well take a more unsettled turn for the last two weeks. A lot more rain is on the cards (it could be another Glastonbury mud bath) with low pressure likely to make a return.

It may well still be rather warm, but not particularly sunny I'm afraid, although Northern Ireland might not do too badly on that score.

:(

Just when I was starting to get optimistic, too ...

This had better bloody change again .... now there'ell be the usual thing of desparately checking other sources looking for glimmers of hope...

Next week's update -- crucial

And anyone who dares say (at this particular point) that Glastonbury is 'equally enjoyable' muddy or sunny can fuck off ...

:D:D:D

sorry love, I wasn't going to but that just made me crack out laughing!

I have to say, that weather forecast does look shit but comeon, you know as well as I do that long range forecasting is sooooo unreliable

look again in a couple of weeks :)

just re-arranged delivery to my work - tho as i left all the information with a well dodgy sounding recorded service, I am totally untrusting that it will actually have gone through properly!

That's not yet been updated in the light of the BBC today. We'll have to wait and see whether other forecasts get updated in the wake of the BBC, or whether they continue to contradict each other. The weatheroutlook.com for instance, is still saying good weather for the South, for Glasto week, but I suspect severe non-up-to-date-ness on their part ...

Just for ONCE in my life, it would be good to come up to the Saturday before Glasto KNOWING it will be dry and warm all week .... :(

And, naturally and inevitable, this week and next are set to improve ... hpow fucking annoying is that?

tbh I don't want to know :(

I know I hate hot weather, much to your annoyance :D, I don't want a wet glasto :(

so head in sand approach for me :D

At the moment, for Glasto, I'd give you last Saturday's Strawberry Fair weather (chilly-ish, not sunny, but mainly dry) and with grateful welcome ... :(

But we have a fortnight for prospects to change. The relevant part of the BBC forecast covers a two week period (20th June to 3rd July) and that might get refined on next Monday's update. It can rain as much as it fucking wants after 28th June ...

Other weather sites have yet to update.

Trying to change the subject :(

Someone has started another thread about this in this here music forum, but in case you missed it, the latest news (on eFestivals, and confirmed on The Official Glastonbury Website -- TOS) is that Basement Jaxx and Primal Scream are headlining Sunday night as Kylie's replacements on the main stage.

efestivals said:
Basement Jaxx have been confirmed as the replacement headline act for the Sunday at Glastonbury, after Kylie had to cancel due to illness.

Also playing on the Sunday are Primal Scream, who'll play in the slot before them.
