Glastonbury 2005

In common with previous years, I expect my ticket to be in the very last batch sent out, as I ordered it at 9.04am on the day they went on sale.

yay - tickets dispatched by special delivery today! I'll have to get up early tomorrow so I can hold them in my hands as early as poss...

I've got my tickets too

They're so... flimsy... but

They actually arrive over an hour ago but I didn't open them til about 10 minutes ago... now to really prepare for it all... step 1) ID to go with the ticket...

In the jittug letterbox this morning

1 pass to get me on site
1 big map of the festival site
2 bus passes to get me there and back
Various other bits n bobs

Is anyone heading back Bristol way late on Monday? Don't fancy getting the bus back at noon on Monday so if anyone can offer a lift it'd be nice :)

*practices checking tickets and giving directions*

Does anyone here know what its like leaving Glastonbury Sunday evening - by train.. if there's no particularly good bands on, I'm tempted to try getting out Sunday, rather than the not so very nice 6am start Monday morning?

i've done the early start monday morning a few times and it's fine. you're up at seven or so, off site straight away, usually easy to get a cab at that time and on the train, into london for half nine, work by ten. that's leaving your tent and everything behind with your friends of course. that way you get to enjoy sunday evening too and snooze on the train.

Err.. last year muggins *on stuff* charges out the wrong exit at 5.30 am, and ends up spending 2 hours walking around country lanes before finding the correct exit.. Nice morning for it though.

Well, I've called Aload who checked my order number, my address, my mates address and my delivery address and couldn't find owt wrong.

I've just checked the tracker and it's gone back to "Tickets are in stock and will be despatched shortly to..."

Weird!

A nice kind of wierd though eh! :)

Well no word yet about ours, but I haven't got my shit together tonight to check Ticket Tracker -- we're too Strawberry Fair focussed right now, but past experience suggests that there is a long few weeks altogether over ticket dispatch period.

So I'm not worried for now -- we can check next week!

Nice one to all who have already got them, and best of luck especially to Riff -- looks like there was an Aloud-style cock up initially, but you should be fine by the sound of it.

:) Tort has it right I think!

grrrr - if they were dispatched yesterday by special delivery - why aren't they here yet??

Not that I broke the habit of (almost) a lifetime and got up before eight to make sure I caught the postie!!

Hopefully it is sorted. :)

But I was just thinking = didn't you have a lot of ticket trouble about 2 years ago- Aloud refusing your card or something? (I have an autistic memory)

Bad luck :(

Tort get there LONG before you with that one -- and it was in this very thread, loser! :p :D
pah! :p

( I did look for it... could you point me to the page number ;) :p )

My ticket just arrived just now :D which is very handy considering I'd taken the day off for my birthday! (Otherwise I wouldn't have been here)

So, an unexpected birthday surprise :D

While in Strawberry Fair weather worry mood ....

... I was looking at the mega thread on efestivals about Glasto-weather prospects earlier, in which people post up a whole range of links to different weather sites. None are predicting heavy rain/mudbath conditions (in fact nowhere have I seen any suggestions of prolonged rain in mid to late June at all).

Most indicate at least pleasant, and one or two are suggesting out and out warm and sunny (none say hot though). All say any High Pressure at the relevant time will come from the South or South West, which would bring Somerset nearer to the best of it ...

The significant exception is those perennial pessimists Metcheck, who ALWAYS downplay prospects, and are more often than not wrong with the exception of last year

NB The predominant optimism above is not to be relied on at this stage, and like weather so often does in this country, may change. But tentatively, I'd say for now that prospects are far from bad ....

Far too many more details in coming weeks ... :p

Mmm. Shiny shiny tickets :)
That's me and Sparra accounted for.

email this week eh, Bees? :) Don't worry, you've got a little bit of time left :)

It's not Royal Mail special delivery it's a company called SDS as I found out yesterday when I chased the postie down the road to ask him where my letter was!!

They turned up in the afternoon by courier.
