GE 2017: Urban Opinion Poll No.1

Who are you going to vote for?

  • Total voters
    157
  • Poll closed .
The Conservative vote is well up since the 2015 GE poll. I thought I was the last Tory standing on Urban since Sas became apostate.

I did my first 'who shall I vote for' website last night (just randomly googled) and it came out with SNP... Bit surprising as I live in England.

Yep, me too. Many of my fb friends got the same result. I wasn't surprised at all. It asked what you think, not where you live. Talking to people, there is a lot of support for Nicola Sturgeon south of the border. Apart from the petit nationalist haters, obv.

Having spent 9 months trying to keep social housing tenants with a roof over their head from mostly Labour councils invested in schemes to sell of their homes to the highest bidders, backed with PFI, with little intention to re-house them again, and councillors actively funnelling contracts to their mates with property development companies, I just don't believe in voting for 'the least worst' anymore. I understand and sympathise with it in a shit system where all parties are just vying for the pursuit of neoliberalism with slight differences in how that's administered, but it just validates their existence and continues in fucking over the working class...

And even if it were possible to believe in voting for the least worse, given the actions of past Labour governments and present Labour councils, I'm not even sure the idea that a vote for Labour really is the least worst actually stands up to too much scrutiny.

My constituency of Tottenham is apparently one of the safer Labour seats in the country, but even if it wasn't, I wouldn't waste the 15 or 20 minutes it would take me to walk to the polling station and vote for them or anyone else

It says I should be voting SNP, Plaid Cymru, Green, or Sinn Fein, in that order... think I'll only have one of those options if I end up sending in a postal vote.

Labour and snp neck and neck at 71%, but labour places ahead because we are closer on education, which is mt top issue.

According to a websitey thing apparently I'm meant to vote Green?

I'd not discount it outright, but...

This seat is going Tory, no matter what anyone does. 17k majority last time.

If my vote's going to be 'symbolic', it may as well be symbolic for a party that stands a chance in 2029 or whenever it is.

So - dutiful and utterly pointless tick in the red box it is then.

Should laptops be banned on all direct flights departing from the Middle East?

Wut? I know I've been living in an alcoholic hermit-shell for a while, but is this actually a thing now? If so, then FFFFFFFFFFFFS.
its big enough to hold enough plastique to blow a hole in the side of the plane. Mental things we have to think of these days. But yeah, it does seem so weird.

86% Plaid Cymru. SNP a close second at 82%. I don't have a Plaid candidate :D so Scot Nat it is (was going to be anyway)

Greens break the 70% for me, just. Across Europe I've only found Syriza and Podemos doing better, but not much.

So nobody a real close match for me unsurprisingly.

Weird quiz, some of the answers don't align with policies of any of the parties. Also the questions seem to have been authored by someone not familiar with the UK e.g. "Should the national railway be privatized?"

Tricky. Would go for dripping vagina option but in a Lab/LD marginal, I fear nose holding and voting Labour. The pain, the sorrow...especially since the bastards showed me the door during the leadership election - have seethed (more than usual) since.

78% Labour for me, with 75% Green. UKIP and the BNP (both 28%) beating out the Tories (25%) :D

I get 85% Socialist Party in the US, 79% Dems, 78% Green. 13% GOP

81% Left Front in France. 83% Podemos. 63% Syriza, which was my highest score for Greece. 82% New Dems in Canada. 86% Labor in Aus. 76% The Left in Germany.

It started asking me to answer more questions when I picked Finland so that's all for now.
