England Cricket 2021

So how's that 'going for the win' going for you all?

Are you desperate for a draw yet? (And it ain't even tea).

Ultimately it was selecting Overton instead of someone with some pace that fucked us in this one.

An absolute lush green seamer for manchester lease mr groundsman.
India's seam attack outbowled England's. None of the Test grounds will want a green top - this year of all years they want at least 4 full days of cricket, with the bonus of a fifth even better. They want the revenue. We want to see evenly contested matches for at least 4 full-ish days, preferably five.

I'm sure Overton feels suitably ashamed for England going from 100 for nought to 210 all out. Especially as he only managed to score more runs in that second innings than Malan, Ali, Bairstow and Pope combined.

Felt like an incredibly long test match - in the best possible way. I was there on day 1 and even then was left reflecting on small moments/margins. Thakur’s 50 was pivotal (not sure why he didn’t get MoM?!?). After 6-2 Root and Malan were relatively serene until Root took everyone by surprise by getting out!
After that, Moeen’s ill judged swipe precipitated a collapse of sorts meaning England were probably 50/100 short of where they were heading. The opening stand by India obviously set them up. Then there was the inevitable middle order collapse
yesterday.

However, none of the above should detract from India’s cricket - which was just better than England’s. Bumrah’s spell yesterday was outstanding. Back to back series wins in Australia and England, hats off…

As for England. Well, catches win matches lads! We might also reflect on the fact that this side was without Stokes, Archer, Broad and Buttler. As usual, lots of questions and not enough answers.

Lastly, wonder if the ECB are still preening themselves over the Hundred having seen how much it meant to India to win this game and how empty England’s red ball cupboard really is.
