Au contraire, I think there's a desperation in some quarters not to believe the evidence of our own eyes because it's too awful to contemplate. He has already been well caught. Mind you, I should add this story is not anything like my main concern of the day. I’m just engaging in this thread as a pastime akin to doing the NYT puzzles. I’m more concerned with what the Trump administration will actually do to increase suffering, poverty and environmental collapse.

If I'd accidentally throw a nazi salute - at an event where every split second is carefully planned and used for propaganda - into a world wide audience I'd be mortified and do my very best to explain myself and I'd take steps to promote mutual tolerance and understanding.
But then I'm not a tech billionaire who's just made a white supremacist the most powerful man in the world and who supports the extreme right across Europe.
